Why did you pick your NP Program?

As the title suggests, I'm looking for why people decided on the programs that they are currently in and graduated from. Was cost part of the decision? Was acceptances or location an issue? What did you hope to get out of your training with that program (i.e. having enough clinical hours to practice in most states)? With the NP field (psych, primary care...), what were you looking for (i.e. more autonomy)? Did school reputation play a role in your decision?

Cost, convenience, location and reputation.

Arranges preceptors , hybrid format with clinicals arranged near me vs near city where campus is, respected in Florida, knew of some nps that have graduated from here, beautiful campus, dedicated advanced diagnostics class for Fnp which many do not have, public.

Oh, and not for profit for sure. They still have a bad rep in some places.

Some places? It really should be looked down in all places that offer public education. I understand the need for private if there were minimal public schools but common there are plenty of public np universities

1. Cost ...it's

2. Hybrid program ...online with a few face to face classes

3. GRE waived if GPA above 3.2

4. They set up clinicals...didn't want the added headache of finding preceptors!!

So where did you go and what specialty?

Thanks
