I am not yet even a nursing student but I think I will purse a CRNA degree.
I was scanning a nursing job site and it seems that Texas has a very high pay scale.
Any ideas as to why?

What a silly question,
As the world knows, everything is bigger in Texas.
Seriously though, most of the high paying jobs are in terrible places to live. IMHO that is most of Texas.

well, I live in one of those border towns now, and it isn't bad at all. Pay is not the highest, but the sign-on and relocation are good.

i had the unfortunate experience of living in tx for 3 years myself. i took an additional 10 years off my life just waking up and looking at the flat/brown waste land of tx. you couldn't pay me enough to move back.

I lived in Killeen for 18 months, and the people there kept telling me there are mountains here, "WHERE!?!?!?!?!? oh those little hills, those are NOT mountains", LOL.

my friend graduated last year as an RN and a texas hospital flew her down and put her up in a hotel for an interview. she ultimately said no to the 4,000 signing bonus because she said the humidity was so bad youcould actually SEE the water in the air lol.
