Specializes in RN.

Where do you go (website or live) for continuing education? I am finding a lack of useful continuing education and skills refreshment in my current position.

Thanks for the feedback!

Specializes in Oncology; medical specialty website.

I get mine from a variety of free websites related to my specialty and from my specialty organization.

Specializes in Med Surg/ICU/Psych/Emergency/CEN/retired.

I got/get mine from journals such as The Journal of Emergency Nursing and Critical Care Nurse, as well as emergency and critical care conferences. As far as I know, there is a bounty of places to get continuing education. I see from your name that you are an LVN, so I don't know the requirements for that license. In California, RNs need only 30 CEUs every two years to renew an RN license. It is more for specialty certifications. I'm not sure I am being of any help to you! I hope others can chime in here with more information.

Specializes in retired LTC.

I get CEU catalogues from different CEU providers. You know, the sent book has your state's hourly quota of articles to read and then you posttest on-line, pay a fee and print out your certificate. Easy peasy.

If you don't like the topics in the book, go to their web site and select different ones. Usually no problem to substitute.

Specializes in allergy and asthma, urgent care.

I do one live conference a year and then do a bunch of online stuff. I usually go to Medscape if I have 10-15 minutes to do a quick CE thing.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Medscape.com offers a wide assortment of totally free CEUs for nurses and other licensed healthcare workers. And best of all, all their CEU offerings are free. :)

Specializes in ICU.

My job crams so much down my throat I don't have to worry about getting any hours elsewhere.

However, I do subscribe to my specialty's journal, and they have a ton of CEs I could use for credit if I needed to.
