What not to do...

I've seen quite a few posts about starting nursing school and there is a wealth of information on this website.

I thought it would be funny to start a HUMOROUS post on what not to do in nursing school/rotations.

I will be starting in the fall and I spent a bit of time stressed out about it. After doing lots of reading and communicating with some of my classmates, I am now just excited about it and think this would be a fun post for those of us starting in the fall or currently attending classes.

Any takers? I'll start:

1. Don't start any sentences with "One time, on E.R..."

If you are wearing white or light colored scrubs, do not wear a red lace thong.

While doing your er rotation, do not say "but that's not how they taught us" in front of the pt.

or say to the ER nurse "EEWW that is gross, Is he going to die?" in front of a conscious patient.

Never comment on how slow/easy the night shift is going..

Never say, "But that's the CNA's job!"

Never, ever run with a full bedpan.

Oh, and NEVER assume that anything brown is chocolate.
