On a pre-employment medication test I got one question wrong. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what I'm missing! Here's the question.
You have 500ml to infuse at 60ml an hour. How many hours does it take to infuse?
I answered 8 hours and twenty minutes using the formula of volume/flow rate.
What am I not getting? If I used the wrong formula please let me know and explain why..
Thanks!!

I would solve the problem like this:
Hr = 1hr/60ml x 500ml/vtbi = 8.33333 hr = 8 hr 19.8 min = 8 hr 20 min. So I don't see why you got it wrong.... :/

Maybe they wanted your final answer in hours rather than hours/minutes? I can't see anything that would be wrong.
They told me the answer was 6.75 hours..
So confused!!
Perhaps they made an error? 6.75 hours at 60 mL/hr is closer to 400 mL TBI. I'd probably ask for their rationale :)
Will do!

An excellent critical thinking skill example. You are not wrong, the answer key is
I had to pass many medication tests as a traveler/agency nurse. the last one, I was more than happy to correct 3 of their questions/ answers for them.
It takes awhile to get to that point, I know... but start trusting in yourself and your judgement.
Good luck!

Yeah, 6.75 hrs is wrong. You're right.

They need to check their math.
