What course was most difficult for you and why? I'm just curious. I hear a lot of people talk about how hard A&P is.

I thought A&P was hard when I took it but that was before I had taken any nursing courses. Those really schooled me, lol...oh the first exam with those NCLEX style questions was quite the experience.
For me I'd say I found pharmacology to be my toughest course.

Is pharmacology under another name by any chance? I don't see any pharmacology courses as part of my school's LPN program.

Siren, the course that was hardest for me was College Algebra. I could do Pharmacology math to perfection but not Algebra. I actually had to find a college that didn't require Algebra for an ADN. I found Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Texas. They do require it for a BSN tho. Oh well... Russell
Don't even get me started on math. I'm the worst at it. Thankfully, the only math course I'll have to take for my LPN program is "Contemporary Mathematics." I've heard it's easier than College Algebra. Still dreading it though...
Why does one need to know algebra to be a nurse anyway?

Probably not....some schools don't have Pharmacology as a separate course..maybe they incorporate the medication information in the other courses.

Sorry about the double post.
My ASN program doesn't have a separate pharmacology course. We learn the drugs throughput the whole program. The drugs relate to the unit and class. So we learned chemo drugs and antiemetics during the cancer unit or insulins during the unit that covered diabetes. Or all the birth control, inducing drugs, etc during OB class. Or anti anxiety and antidepressants during mental health.

Because certain math such as titrations do involve solving for X depending where it's placed.
Example:
Mg/kg/min
Mcg/kg/min
Not sure if y'all learn this in LPN school or not, as it's a critical care related math.
But that's my best guess and the most advanced math I've done thus far in the nursing program. (:
If you ever have math woes, I highly recommended youtube!
