I was just wondering what you're supposed to bring once the day finally arrive. I know for a fact that you can't bring any study materials such as books to the NCLEX test taking site since you're not allowed to.
Do you bring snacks? What else are you supposed to bring there?

Bring your ID and car keys. Not sure if you should take snacks. I recommend eating before your test. I left my phone in my car. And it took me about 30 mins to complete the test so not sure if you even need to take snacks.

You need your id and keys, but you will end u locking the keys in the locker they give you. I took a water bottle and no snacks. I'm not sure if snacks are allowed or not. You are not allowed to chew gum. You can't wear a headband or a hat, and if you wear glasses or a jacket, you turn them over to be inspected before you are allowed in the testing room with them. No electronics, your phone needs to stay in your car. The rules are specific and you must sign that you understand them. Just make sure if you take a snack or a water bottle or anything that they see if before you go in, that way if it's not allowed you can stick it in the locker. The objective is not to have access to anything that they can even remotely think is a means to cheat, so if they ok everything you take in the room, you will be ok.

I brought my purse which had my usual stuff (keys, ID, cell phone, wallet, etc) but I did that knowing that I would have to put it all in a locker when I got there. I called the place ahead of time and they said it was fine to bring those things, but that they would be locked up. They gave me a bag to put my cell phone in and it went in the locker.
I brought orange juice, greek yogurt and a granola bar. I ate them in the lobby area just before I went in.
I didn't need a break, but even if I did, I wouldn't have opened the locker during my break. I wouldn't want to do ANYTHING that would risk there being a problem or look suspicious.
I took nothing but myself into the testing room. They provided the dry erase board, marker, etc. so I just went in completely empty-handed.
I don't drive yet so I guess I can't bring car keys. My mom's gonna drive me to the testing site. She's gonna have to wait for a very long time while I take the test.
I'll just bring my social security number, my California ID, and other forms of identification.
So they give you a key once you're in the testing site? Thanks to everyone who answered.

Why have your mom sit in the parking lot for hours? Do you have a cell phone, and does she? If so, you CAN bring your cell to the testing site, and HAND IT OVER to the person who is collecting personal items. DO NOT KEEP IT.....TURN IT OVER. Just making sure I'm clear on that part
When the test is done, collect your things, walk out the door, then call your mom to come get you. She can be in a shopping center or bookstore rather than sitting in a car.

You don't need your social security number just your state issued drivers license or passport. Bring your cell phone you power it off and it gets sealed in front of the receptionist then you lock it in your locker. You don't unseal the phone bag until witnessed by the receptionist.
No reason to have your mother wait, you can call once finished.
You are assigned a keyed locker at check in. Store your iID & sealed phone in the locker

whatever you do, do not, I repeat, DO NOT access your phone for any reason until you're done with your exam.
That's why you seal it upon arrival in a bag witnessed by staff. Like a csi evidence bag. Too many people were accessing on breaks so NCSBN had to try to protect candidates from themselves.
I have a question, do you have to print out a copy of your ATT (Authorization to Test)? I already received it.
Not any more. You used to.
How come it says on my Kaplan book thatI need to bring my ATT?
Here's what the book said:
Here's a checklist of things to bring on the day of the exam: Your ATTOne form of signed identification (ID) that includes a picture. If you have changed your hair color, lost weight, or grown a beard, have a new picture ID made before test day. The name of your ID must match exactly the name on your ATT. Acceptable forms of ID include driver's license, state/province identity card, passport, and U.S. military ID.A snack and something to drink.Do not bring any study materials to the test center.
