Wanting to transfer into a fast tracking program, Canadian student

Hi, in December I was in my third year of nursing. Unfortunately my teacher did not like me at all and another teacher was my ex bf's sister in law and they failed me even though I passed all my classes marks wise. Well I plan on going back into nursing but I was hoping to only do a year and a half then a full blown two years. At my school we did not take a stats class. I took nursing in BC. Anyone know any options out there? I applied to UFV, and Trent. I am just waiting to hear back from them. I even applied to Australia where its only 3 years. I'm that desperate. I have been going to school for 6 years now and I just want tot travel and have a life and not be broke for once. Thanks

You really need to go to school in the country that you plan on working in.There are no short cuts to getting through school.

I really don't think you could be failed if you passed all your classes.Teachers cannot fail you just because they don't like you. Blaming someone else for your failure usually means you aren't telling us the whole story.I seriously doubt 2 teachers could cause you to fail if you passed all your classes.

If you really in your heart believe that you were failed because of relationship issues, you need to bring these issues to the attention of the nursing faculty. It is extremely hard these days to fail a student and there has to be a lot of evidence to back up the decision. How well did you do on the placements? Staff at the facilities do get to comment on you.

If you took nursing in BC why not finish it there. You need a degree to work as an RN in Canada. Even if you move here as a US educated RN if you don't have the degree, you don't meet the requirements to enter the workforce as an RN.

On my placements I did really good they said. I passed all my classes marks wise. She even gave me a certificate saying I completed as far as I did cause I was transferring to a different school then a week later told me this. It was a complete surprise and her reason was that I would not be a good nurse and should look into social work. That is all she told me.

There has to be more to the story. They can't do that. They can't fail you just because of a personal opnion. There is something fishy about your story.

Hi, I was in my 3rd year of nursing and me and my teacher did not see eye to eye. I passed all my classes but she basically thought I shouldn't be a nurse. Anyways, doesn't matter she failed me. This was back in December and this is the only thing I want. I cry about it still everyday. I just can't get over it. Well, I went to COTR in BC so I applied to two sister schools and UFV to get into their fast tracking but they are taking forever to look at my transcripts and I might not make the fast tracking. I then applied to Trent and haven't heard from them. I haven't heard from any school and I'm starting to freak out. Someone help me out or think of anything else I can do. Thanks.

Don't worry acceptances are still going out till May and maybe you should try calling

the schools that you have applied to and see what they have to say. They can give you

the best information about their acceptances and until when they will hand them out.

That being said, good luck getting in!

by the way, if you have passed all your courses and failed one aspect of your program, you can

still continue right? You might be put back a year but if you passed everything you can't really be kicked out

of the program. I had a friend who failed first year clinical and passed all her other courses. She can still continue in the program

but unfortunately will be put back a year, which ultimately doesn't affect her chance of being a Nurse (she will just finish one more

year later). Hopefully something works out for you!

I don't believe for one second that you passed all your classes and got failed because ONE teacher thinks you shouldn't be a nurse. It doesn't work that way. You aren't telling us the whole story.

Yeah she just failed me on my clinical, even though I passed marks wise. She didn't like my personality, told me to take a year off and think about social work.

They cannot fail you on personality.Like I said, you aren't telling us the real story. In one of your other posts you said you dropped out.In one of your other posts you said there was 2 teachers that failed you.Your story is inconsistent and I suspect untrue. If you want honest feedback/support you need to tell us the real/whole story.

This is the real story. She failed me like I said. There was only 12 of us students cause it was such a small school. My other teacher who taught me in other classes was my ex bf's sister in law so I think maybe she could have had something to do with it

I don't believe for one second that you passed all your classes and got failed because ONE teacher thinks you shouldn't be a nurse. It doesn't work that way. You aren't telling us the whole story.

I watched this happen to a classmate way back when. I attended all her "meetings" with her and she and I pored over all the communications, evaluations, and feedback between her and the instructor and identified many instances of the instructor deliberately misrepresenting, redirecting, and misleading. It was a personality conflict. She passed all the classes but was failed during a community-based practicum because she spent so much time trying to address all the instructor's repeated, minor concerns that she was told she "missed the big picture".

She was failed. I was assigned to that same instructor for the final clinical of that year. Two of the instructors who weren't involved in failing my classmate came to me informally to make sure I would be okay with that, because they knew what happened. They couldn't say anything but they knew.

Trust me, it does happen.
