Venting about working and going to school !

Currently, I'm doing really well in school while working full time. :wink2:I work as a school health assistant, in the health room at an elementary school. I basically give first aid/ and meds to kids whom need it. I also do a little administrative work... an ex. making sure kids health records are up to date. Anyway... Sometimes I feel really burnt out, and I'm worried that as the content in school gets more complex the more I'd have the study and I just don't have the time.:o I do get a chance to study at work, and my boss is very supportive of that... I just feel like I'm not the bubbly person I used to be, due to working all day and going to school are night, and having clinical e/o weekend ! I'm a single person so I have no financial support from my parents, family, or the government. I'm glad I made it this far though, and I hate to complain :o. I never have an attitude towards the kids, but dealing with their teachers and parents is a whole other story ! Sometimes the teachers send the kids to the health room for the DUMMEST little things:madface:. Well, atleast I have a job.... My question is what do you do when you're overly tired from work and going to school ! :zzzzz

I'm right with you. I was 40 hrs/week {in a Doctors office}, cut down to 30 in Sept and next week will begin 20 hrs/week {we work 10 hour days} related to increased stress, and the lack of time to study etc.

My oldest son informed me this weekend that since I began nursing school last year I am like the "bi-Polar Express". Hmm...

It's not easy, try to find that few minutes for you, and best wishes.

Thanks alot.... I do feel like my emotions are also way out of wack. Sometimes I just sit in my car in cry :( Its hard right now, but I know it would pay off. My goal is to get my LPN in 09, so that I can work less and still keep money in my pocket while pursing my BSN.

After getting sufficiently burnt out with working FT and hacking away at nightclasses, I joined the army for three years. Now they are paying for my tuition, and I attend nursing school FT, free!

Please dont' get burnt out too early! It's a drag now, but the degree lasts a lifetime!!!

am on the same boat as you...!

I know how you feel. I work 40 hours a week as a Senior Associate with a company I've been with for 9 years and I don't usually have time to study at work. I also have 4 children between my husband and I. I have school Mon, Tues and Thurs evenings. I have to pick up patient info immediately after work on Friday and I have clinicals on Sat and Sun. I feel like I work 7 days a week but this semester is almost over and I've managed to keep A's and B's on all my exams and quizzes and pass skills testing. It's hard as hell but I keep thinking I'm almost done this semester and it will all be worth it.:wink2:
