Hey guys!

:)

The application period for UTMB Spring 2013 is now open! Have any of you already applied/ taken the teas? Good luck to all!

I've actually already been accepted. :) I guess I just have an inquisitive mind about how things works, process...etc. Thanks for the information and clearing that up for me. It makes a lot more sense, and will be helpful for others that are waiting, I'm sure.

US News Report. 2012. You can get the magazine at Barnes & Noble, or google it. They compiled all medical fields. I would get the entire report to see how they developed the measures.

Thanks for that. Websites seemed to not be updated yet. They actually improved greatly, they were ranked #64 in 2011. That's a great improvement. Good for them.

B&B has the most updated Medical School report for 2012. It was very extensive.

Well congratulations then! :)

The SON decided not to do interviews this time. Students who were admitted early were done so based on academic achievement (GPA & TEAS along with no outstanding prereqs) or they were "rollovers" from the past semester's waiting list for an issue school created - admission sent wrong place, etc.

The have done some interviews this time, but it has been done to clarify issues in their packet - meaning they have been in the admission bubble and the school needed a bit more information.

I know its hard not to, but please don't compare stats. I wish no one would even post them!! Its been said before, but UTMB is NOT a numbers school. Your essay is very important. Someone with "lower stats" may have already been accepted, but no one knows their story, what they said in their essay. I have a terrible science GPA, but I also have a story with it (5Fs in one semester, 3 science courses, after I had stillborn baby) I applied to 7 (SEVEN!) Programs and UTMB was the ONLY one who would even look at me. I'm one of the top students in my class.

Take a break from AN. Stop comparing. Its not fair to you or to other people (and stop posting stats!) Focus on your current classes (if any) Get immunizations and CPR in order and generally stop worrying. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and there is purpose to every trial in life. So, you don't get in, the world will continue turning. You cry a bit, and try again. Nothing in life worth having comes easy. You'll be where you belong at just the right time.

Well I still have not heard anything from UTMB.

do we need do volunteer works?

No news here and this is the 3rd week. I'm going to be patient and just wait it out. Can anyone recommend a CPR certification in San Antonio?

Hey awe009!!! Not sure where in San Antonio you live but I went to a place on culebra called CPR super nice lady it was 40$ though ... I was in a small class and it only lasted 3 hours (its usually around 4)

You might want to double check and make sure you have the right one. If I'm not mistaken, it has to be Red Cross for health care providers and it was like $140

Utmb son website says it has to be the basic life support for health care providers through American heart association ...that's what I got and it was only $40 ... its called CPR Providers not just CPR lol
