Um,I really don't think you having a kid is a problem. The majority of applicants have families and they are aware of that.In most cases, they actually try to work with your schedule in terms of clinical times more than people without children.I don't have any kids,so I'm sure that will not be an issue.

Wow 2-3 weeks! That's a quick turn around.I wish we would know when they are interviewing the traditional pool!Did you get any scoop on when traditional should hear about interviews? Geez,If we could be interviewed by the beginning of November,We could at least know by thanksgiving or something. So what type of questions did they ask? Were these group interviews?Or one on one?

Hey. Is this everyone's first time to apply? I just want to know how likely it is to get in on the first try.

Congrats HUNG!

Jazzy, I was thinking the same thing. How soon do you need to reply to PV?

Ms Sealy, Oct.31!!

Well, this is my first time applying so I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. =P

I know it sound horrible and all but I still want to weigh my options. I really am excited about PV but I hear the teachers are not student friendly. I would really like to see what UTMB is doing first.

smith0806 i so glad you got the interview over with. i hope they don't hold having a young family against you just because others in the past had an issue. some people's wills are stronger, hopefully they will see that in you.

this is my first time applying albkat.

omg jazzy 13 days!...i'm not even gonna ask what you are gonna do...that's a tough call. however, i would probably accept and if i got into umtb, then i would send my regrets to pv.

pv takes in about 90 students and graduates 30-35. i've heard good and bad stories about the less than friendly staff. recently, i spoke to a student at pv who is graduating soon and she said…she has no regrets. she loves her school and is very proud of her accomplishments there.

i also work with a young lady who finished her first year at pv son and she did great, but she felt nursing was not for her. she hated the hospital atmosphere and did not finish the program. that was 7 years ago and she still regrets quitting.

I think I saw the graduating class is down to 15 students. What the hey is going on overthere. But alot of the people that worked with me in the hospital graduated from PV and are going back for their masters.

Nothing is going over there. It's just the people who get accepted into the program.PV is known for being more open to accepting more people regardless of their GPA than schools like TWU and UT which are both VERY particular in who they let in.People then go to PV thinking it's an easy program based on that, but when they get into the program they get a BIG reality check and they end up flunking out or leaving the program.

Congratulations, Jazzynurse2B! That rocks!

Thanks, Toasterbell!!!
