UTMB FALL 2015

Hello everyone! I think it's finally time for someone to start a fall thread so here it goes. I am applying to UTHSC and UTMB for fall semester. I gave my teas test today and idk if that score is good enough or not. My GPA is 4.0 and teas individual score is 81. How did everyone else do in their test?

Finally done with my interview! I was told it may take 4 to 6 weeks to hear back from them! Go over your p.statement before you show up! Good luck everyone!

@blacjenn...Why don't you call the admission office? Anyways I did my interview on February 13 and the lady who interviewed me said those who have over all gpa above 3.8 and Teas score above 90 may get accepted without interview! I have a gpa of 3.912 and 82 on Teas! Since I mentioned lots of stuff in my p.statement, my interview questions were related to it! She didn't ask me those common questions: why did u choose this program? Why do you wanna be a nurse? How do you deal with stress? None of them!

Did y'all hear about interviews by email, mail or some other way?

Does anyone know how we apply for the honors program?

I asked the lady who interviewed me and she said that she doesn't know anything about that and I would have to contact student affairs about that. So call them, they might help you. Please let me know if you contact them.

Really? My interviewer told me 2 weeks

Here's what the entrance requirements are for the honors program according to the UTMB website:

Students will apply for participation in the Honors Program after acceptance to the traditional BSN track..at the time of submitting an application for admission to the BSN Traditional nursing program. Entrance requirements for the Honors Program are:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.75 in prerequisite courses; all science course final grades must be at least a B.
  • Minimum TEAS Composite score of 85
  • Matriculation with the fall semester class

In the first paragraph there's conflicting information, so I called them a few days ago to figure out how to apply. I searched all over the website and couldn't find an application or anything.

While updating the requirements I guess they forgot to delete that 2nd sentence. I was told there is no application that everyone who meets the requirements can fill out and submit. After acceptance, you have to receive an invitation to apply.

Here's what the website says about the application process:

  • Applicants meeting requirements will be offered Early Admittance Admission to the SON Traditional BSN program.
  • Students complete the Honors Application and Essay.
  • Finalists are - interviewed by the Honors Committee.
  • Honors Committee makes final selections and issues acceptance letters.

I hope that helps!! :)

Really? Two weeks? Can u pls tell me your stats pls? I already posted mine! May be they wanna reject me!

My friend was also told it may take 4 to 6 weeks to hear back and he has 3.75 all over gpa and 90 on teas!

So the ones that already got interviewed, what kind of questions do they ask? And do we just get interviewed by one person?? Is the interview long?

Hi guys! I actually got accepted for the Summer but I realized that I wasn't going to finish my courses on time so my acceptance was rolled over to the Fall.

@jpcoher When I had my interview it was very relaxed! It was one faculty who interviewed me and she was really nice. She asked questions about my support system, my study habits, and how I planned to tackle nursing school. It lasted about 30 minutes. Be prepared to ask a few questions and good luck! :)
