UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back! I just got an acceptance email yesterday from UTHSCH! I'm still waiting to see what UTMB is going to say! This wait is seriously driving me crazy!

Hi all!

I'm from Univ. of Maryland, applying for UTMB fall 2014! I've been following this thread for awhile and figured it might be time to chime in! I had my interview this morning; they told me that technically I should hear back between 4-6 weeks but usually it's more like 1-4. My interviewer also said that the decisions committee meets every Monday so thats good news for people who interviewed earlier this month. Also, I was told that once you get an admission decision, if it is an offer, you have only 10 days to accept/decline! So that is something to take into consideration tooo

They also said they are planning on admitting 140-150 for the Fall 2014 cohort and more than 600 people applied!

Good luck to everyone still waiting, fingers crossed :)!

Wow! Did you ask them how many people they are admitting or did they just tell you that? I am so surprised it is 140-150, I thought it was 120-125.

I had my interview Tuesday. When I asked if class was going to be held at the nursing school, the professor who interviewed me said it would be at an auditorium since our admitted cohort of 120 students wouldn't fit in the rooms at the nursing school. So from that, I assumed they'd only admit 129 :/

YAY! So happy for you! Congrats!:woot:

I thought we'd hear something this week.. :/

Me too...I wonder how long it's been since anyone got an acceptance email / check mark on Mystar.

For those of you who are deciding between UTMB and UTHSC (or between any schools for that matter) I HIGHLY recommend checking out the NCLEX passing rates. It definitely made the decision for me. It can be googled or the link is: https://www.bon.texas.gov/nursingedu...R-passrate.pdf

I had my interview yesterday and was told they were looking at admitting about 150 from 600 applicants; my interviewer was the director of the RN-BSN program and is high-up in rank there, thus I would take her word for it.

Last tu-th seems to be their last wave of admission letters according to this thread.

The pass rates between uth and utmb aren't all that different, to me. If they were 10% consistently, I think it would help me make a decision. I don't know though, maybe those few points really matter to some people. :)

In my opinion, the consistent above 92% passing rate in the past 4 years for UTHSC is more telling than the difference between the two schools.
