UCF ABSN Summer 2019

Not sure if anyone else has started a thread for this application cycle, so if not let's start one! I'll be applying to the program, but my undergrad gpa is not competitive in the least. Either way, here are my stats:

Science pre-req: 4.0

other pre-req: 3.75

Over all undergrad gpa: 3.26 (pretty low)

I'll be taking the TEAS 2x if I don't score higher than a 90% the first time to balance out my application. Ive read and in a prior year's thread that if you are above average in 3 of 4 categories you are pretty much set. I'll update this once I take the TEAS. Anyone else applying? What other programs are you considering? My stats will fall into the range of accepted applicants, maybe we'll be classmates in 2019! Also it's been quite some time since i took the TEAS any study tips for the science portion?

Does anyone else's CB account say "In progress" for Eligible for Placement?

I didn't do the best on the TEAS test, only took it once and barely scored above the minimum requirement. I guess I wasn't aware of the importance placed on the TEAS score above other things like GPA. I also am an alumnus which I thought might help my chances. My Stats are:

Undergrad cumulative GPA: 3.75

Science Pre-Reqs- 4.0

Other Pre-Reqs- 3.8

TEAS: 78.7

I was invited, my stats for the curious:

Overall GPA: 3.12 (including 2 classes I failed and retook, not sure if they count those)
Science Prereq GPA: 3.25
Non-science Prereq GPA: 4.0
TEAS: 92

I was surprised by the weight of the TEAS as well, which I'm sure is what saved me. With my overall/science prereq GPA being low I really doubted I was going to get in.

Yes. On the email sent with the instructions, Charlenne states that this is not supposed to be complete until "the program start date". The program determines if we are eligible for placement based on the background check, so that is why it is pending, I believe.

Anyone who was waitlisted hear back yet regarding acceptance into the program?

Nothing yet. I looked through the other threads from previous years and a couple people found out around the 23rd-ish. I’m gonna wait until the end of the week.

Has anyone received an invitation from the waitlist? I’m curious now since It’s pretty late in the business day and I don’t think there’s gonna be a response today ?. I know a few people have received the alternative options email but no ones reported any invitations.

Has anyone received any information yet regarding the immunization records/drug screen/CPR etc?

If it's alright to ask, how many of your cohort is still enrolled in the nursing program? I'm trying to not psych myself out before May ? Are you happy you chose UCF?

@sreyneke no worries- do not psych yourself out! It IS a lot of work and stressful, but it’s definitely doable! We’ve lost 5 people, I believe. One was a change in heart, 3 went to the basic program because of personal issues. So of the 5, 3 are still in the program they just went to the basic program instead.

Im happy with the program, but I’ll be happier when I’m done and can get a job haha!
