UCF ABSN Summer 2019

Not sure if anyone else has started a thread for this application cycle, so if not let's start one! I'll be applying to the program, but my undergrad gpa is not competitive in the least. Either way, here are my stats:

Science pre-req: 4.0

other pre-req: 3.75

Over all undergrad gpa: 3.26 (pretty low)

I'll be taking the TEAS 2x if I don't score higher than a 90% the first time to balance out my application. Ive read and in a prior year's thread that if you are above average in 3 of 4 categories you are pretty much set. I'll update this once I take the TEAS. Anyone else applying? What other programs are you considering? My stats will fall into the range of accepted applicants, maybe we'll be classmates in 2019! Also it's been quite some time since i took the TEAS any study tips for the science portion?

Same here! Haven't received the alternative options email yet.

Maybe the people who’ve been invited off of the waitlist aren’t on here. I know it was said some people don’t get a response up until orientation, but it seems weird that no one was invited off the waitlist yet.

yeah, it is a little weird... I'm sure there have been people invited off the waitlist, but aren't on here.

Yeah, I wish we knew for sure. If there was a big wave of invitations I would know it was time to stop refreshing my email like a mad woman and accept my fate lol

Finally got the email from Charlenne about the MOA, etc.! Looks like there's still so much to do before class starts.

Just now? I refreshed my email and I do not have this. I sent an email to Charlenne to make sure that they received my RSVP and that everything from the Background check went through.

Received it 4:16pm EST. It includes several documents: Acceptance Letter, MOA, Medical Document Tracker/Drug Testing instructions, Student Health Form, and CPR schedule.

I haven't received the MOA email either

It may take a while for everyone to get the email because the MOA has your name on it. I imagine that’s why she can’t send a mass email with all the documents.

Yes, I ended up getting it. Honestly, it was probably done alphabetically, which would explain why I was near the end lol. Now I feel bad for adding to what surely is a huge pile of emails in her inbox ?

Does anyone who knows the UCF area have any recommendations for places to live? I'm heading over tomorrow to look. ?

EOS is really nice! I’m gonna get a studio there. It’s really close to the College of Nursing building & it’s next to a Publix.

Are you looking for UCF affiliated student housing? Or even if you aren't, there are several Facebook groups dedicated to people finding housing near school/finding someone to take over their lease.

(Try UCF Housing, UCF Housing & Full Sail Subleases Roommates Off Campus Apartments - Orlando, or UCF Housing, Rooms, Apartments, Sublets.)

I went around looking for student housing recently and decided to sign at Orion on Orpington. They have 4x4 units, it's super close to the College of Nursing, but many units were recently renovated so you can expect rent to be well over $700/month. It was the nicest off campus student housing I saw though, and everywhere off campus and close to school is around the same price range anyway. Apartments are also completely furnished. When I was there they still had some rooms open for summer where you can take over someone's sublease, and if they haven't filled that room yet for Fall you can sublease and renew at the same time and they'll waive the application fee for you. That's what I did and I'm set for housing through Summer 2020. If you end up going there, let me know! I think they have a thing where if I refer a friend we both get something? I don't remember lol.
