  1. For those of you who accepted positions at Emory, how long after accepting your verbal offer did you receive the official one?
  2. The last part makes it seem as though we're on a waiting list. Oh well I won't get my hopes up. I figure with the NICU they aren't suffering from a lack of applicants.
  3. I also chose the NICU! But okay I guess we aren't out of the running yet! Hmm makes me a little hopeful!
  4. Anyone here still waiting on Memorial Hermann Greater Heights? I checked the status and it still says "Application received" I assumed they already did all their interviews right? I just checked out of curiosity because I haven't heard anything from them.
  5. Hey everyone, I applied to Emory, Piedmont, Wellstar, CHOA, and Northside. I am an out-of-state applicant, I had no idea how early the applications open in Georgia! I've been invited to an interview for Emory but not for the floor I'm interested in and a recruiter sent me a message from Northside asking if I was still interested but that was in early October. I did read on a previous thread Northside interviews way later. I am just commenting to keep up with the thread and get a feel for what to expect ?
  6. I put down the NICU! I’m nervous because I’m sure it’s tough to get into.
  7. Hey everyone! Applied and did the behavioral assessment. My first choice (children’s) says under review!!
  8. I hear they accept about half of the people on the waitlist. Hopefully you’re one of those people!
  9. I was accepted in the accelerated program!!! I’m actually so excited!!
  10. You’re welcome good luck to you too!
  11. Hi Rebecca. What I got from the workshop was make sure you know why you want to be a nurse. They want people there who want to be nurses and make sure your passion shows and it’s genuine. And answer the question that’s asked. I guess in the past people tend to ramble when they’re nervous and never get around to answering the actual question. We weren’t given any examples of questions or anything like that but that was the gist. At my table we basically asked our volunteer about the nursing program itself versus the interview. Maybe someone from another table might have gleaned some additional interview related tips. Overall everyone says it’s a very conversational interview and they’ll try to make you comfortable.
  12. I’m not entirely sure but I remember them saying it’s going to be an informal workshop led by the students and no faculty should be there. They’re basically going to be giving tips and advice. They also recommended doing mock group interview if you’re currently a UNF student. I guess that’s something offered through like the career center. A lot of schools offer services like that so maybe if you can’t do the workshop, look into that to sharpen up your interview skill. Oh and you can look through previous years threads and see some questions they could potentially ask.
  13. I sent an email back the same day but I think she usually responds during the weekdays.
  14. Congrats!! I hope everyone does great in their interviews!!
  15. Congrats! Looks like we might be in the same group!
