UBC 2021

Hiya folks!

It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.

Is anyone else already excited for next September?

I am #1 on the waitlist! I am so excited! Last year I was #80 on the waitlist so this is a big improvement. I improved on my casper this year.

Congrats to everyone who got in and anyone who didn't get in, don't give up hope and reapply next year!

I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to send me the package that states all the post acceptance requirements I need to get done?

LOL you are pretty much in!! Congrats ? I am very happy for you!!

I have still not gotten an email yet either  (checked my junk too). Does anyone know what this means ?

congratz to everyone who has gotten in! I scored 2 for grades and supplemental and 3 for caspr so I doubt I have a shot ? for those who have high waitlist priority, do you mind sharing your scores in each category? kind of curious how far off am I haha

I'd like to hear from you as well!

I’d love to try and help you out!
Is there any way that you can message me? I think my account is too new to send private messages.

Hey guys! HUGE congrats to all the acceptances :) So proud of all of you guys!

I did want to share that I got waitlisted, AL-23. I am truly shocked that I was waitlisted, as I was extremely late to start my application and didn't feel I gave the supplemental section enough time. Overall I scored a 1 on the CASPer, a 2 on my admission rank, and a 3 on my supplemental.

Again, everyone should be so proud of themselves! Good luck to those higher on the waitlist! <3

Just got my rejection email. Looks like CASPER and grades were the decider. I got a 3 for both and 1 for my supplemental. My GPA is 78%.  Not sure what I’ll do now. Is it even possible to improve CASPER score? They don’t give any feedback.
Congrats to all that got accepted!

It's most definitely possible to improve your Casper score even though they say preparation makes no difference. I suggest getting the bemo guide to casper book on Amazon, practicing getting your thoughts down by doing sample questions and practicing your typing skills.

nothing in my junk mail either! pretty sure I got rejected but at least it would be nice to know how I ranked ?

That's so strange! I don't know what it means but keep us posted!

You'll absolutely get an acceptance given your waitlist position!

I really hope so!! It's honestly just surprising people reject their offers (ofc there's legitimate reasons for why) since I would accept mine in a heartbeat ?

hi I know theres a discord that's been created but I don't use it too much. will there be a facebook group created? if someone creates one let us know!

Got waitlisted, but further down in the list. Casper really messed it up for me. I have offer from another school but I really wanted to it into UBC. I scored 1 in supplemental, 3 in grades (I thought 3.77 was good enough ??‍♀️) and 4 in casper.

Casper really sucks! I don't think it's a good indication of people skills at all. This is a little silly, but is your waitlist position obvious in the letter?

I got 1 supplemental, 3 grades, and 2 casper but there's nothing about being waitlisted. I was rejected(?). Can't see anything about being waitlisted and my letter states "...regret to inform you that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion".

It really makes me think casper and grades are weighted most heavily. And there are slight advantages in applying ASAP? I submitted my supplementals Feb 28 (on the deadline).

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!

I, sadly, got rejected. I got 4 for the grades, however I have my bachelors diploma with honours (which means I am a straight A student) from another country. I am confused, as I felt I should get a good score for grades. I got 2 for supplemental and 3 for Casper, but I guess there was no chance with this grades score. Very sad and disappointed.

May I ask for those who was wait listed, what are your scores for all three parts?

I got a 3 for grades, 78% average in my last 30 credits.

I read somewhere UBC Nursing gives preference towards domestic applicants? Could that be a reason?

Hey guys!

Congrats to those than got in!

I was rejected last year too - #3 on Casper and grades but 1 in supplemental. I got into my second choice at UBC and I'm completing my degree this Summer.

This year I got #1 in casper and 2 in grades and supplemental..weird progress.

I'm on #34 on the waitlist.. weird place to be, don't know if I should take it as rejection or not.

But good luck to everyone in the waitlist and those that got rejected, sometimes its a blessing in disguise!

Hey! check the first paragraph of the email, it should say A- something if you got waitlisted.
