I would assume deadlines are strict, to ensure fairness for all applicants. Also, applications for the January intake starts June 1st (very soon), so I would assume it's too late now to apply for the September intake. But I'm speculating. You should phone BCIT to ask, if you haven't already. Did you already start your September application? Maybe you can ask to have your application fee waived for January?

I also got the same feeling about BCIT ? Hope it works out for us. If you haven't already, check out VCH's covid response hiring (screeners, program assistants, clerks, etc.). They pay pretty well and casual work is perfect for students.

I understand but that doesn't explain how someone got on the waitlist with 4-casper 1-supplemental 3-grades, while I didn't get on the waitlist with 2-casper 1-supplemental 3-grades. At the end of the day though, it doesn't matter because I think that person was number 80 on the waitlist. Edit: Actually to retract that, maybe that person scored much higher than me in supplementals and grades. So yes, you are right, when the application is submitted doesn't matter.

Hi, I'm sorry about that, it's so disappointing after all that hard work. Will you be applying again? Maybe we will get in together for 2022! I applied with school leadership experience and unit clerk work at VGH. But, I think these experiences are quite common. I really think it all comes down to how you express/write it. I watched a lot of Youtube videos on writing -- I think that's how I got that 1 for supplementals.

Actually, I was referring to how I got 1 - supplementals, 2 - casper, and 3 - grades... But nowhere on the waitlist, even though I saw others in this thread getting waitlisted (with similar scores or even lower in each category). So my theory is, for those who are "just cutting it", submitting your application earlier might help you achieve a position on the waitlist. Just a theory though!

Yeah, my score makes sense. 78% (B+/A-) with 3. @JULIADO noted they scored a 4 with straight As.

Now I'm positive I was rejected. My email began with a generic "Dear UBC-Vancouver BSN Applicants". No A-something anywhere in the letter attached. Thank-you for responding. And congrats on improving and almost obtaining your second choice degree! ☺️ After stalking all those forums, I would say #34 gives you a pretty good chance.

I got a 3 for grades, 78% average in my last 30 credits. I read somewhere UBC Nursing gives preference towards domestic applicants? Could that be a reason?

Casper really sucks! I don't think it's a good indication of people skills at all. This is a little silly, but is your waitlist position obvious in the letter? I got 1 supplemental, 3 grades, and 2 casper but there's nothing about being waitlisted. I was rejected(?). Can't see anything about being waitlisted and my letter states "...regret to inform you that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion". It really makes me think casper and grades are weighted most heavily. And there are slight advantages in applying ASAP? I submitted my supplementals Feb 28 (on the deadline).
