TWU Spring 2009

Hello everyone just wanted to see if there were anymore hopeful spring 2009 applicants out there. I submitted my application already and just sitting back waiting till Nov when acceptance/rejection letters are sent out. I know they said for us to check out emails everyday in October. If anyone has been through the application process before please share your experience. Good luck to everyone :wink2:

I'm at a loss, i feel really bad for those that got a rejection letter or waitlisted. If i did not have the 0.4 advantage there is no way i would have gotten accepted- i would have only had a 3.6! So, those of you with higher GPAs without the .4 advantage (and even still those that don't) - i commend you on your obvious hard work and intelligence! Please don't give up - you are all fantastic people here and i wish the best for all.

FutureCRNA - where did you apply? Houston or Denton?

Nursetobe12 -I am shocked about your rejection. They are crazy!

Everyone should apply to UT Health Science Center San Antonio. I got in there and because their deadline was so early, they had my lowest GPA on file. With your grades, yall should get in there.

I still have not gotten my mail. I am looking forward to a rejection but I am okay with that because today I found out that my boyfriend got an interview at UTHSCSA and thats where I will be.

On the bright side, if you get in at TWU, maybe Princess_WannaBe could have your slot! HA!

And congrats to your boyfriend on his interview.

PS- Everyone should apply somewhere else! Why on earth would you retake a class that you got a B in? You probably worked hard for that B! I feel that retaking is a waste of money and time.

If you have to be in Houston, apply to UT Houston, Prairie View, HBU, or even UTMB. Lamar University in Beaumont has a program too. You are bound to get into one of those.

Thanks AggieNurse! I thought about that already! Maybe if I do get in, I can write her name on the response sheet. haha.

Hey rfs2886, I'm in the same boat as you. And I second the rec for UT system schools (UTHSC Houston, San Antonio, UTMB) for those of you willing to move, because they interview you and consider your experience in things such as leadership, med experience, volunteering, etc, you can have a lower GPA and still get in. rfs, I hope your boyfriend's interview goes well.

Pookster - what schools did you apply to?

Oh and by the way everyone, if you apply to the UT schools (maybe not for UT Houston) you can throw your net score in the trash because they dont look at it!

All I had in my mailbox was a Victoria"s Secret catalog. Gosh... I just want to know.

Are you taking Patho. at TWU this semester?

I applied to the Dallas Campus. I'm not taking any classes at TWU. But for the person that said retaking classes is a waste of time, I AGREE. But I'm only interested to going to TWU Dallas. Closest to my home and I will be able to save some money. So i don't have much of a choice either way, plus my current job as a Supervisor at UPS pays for my school so I took advantage of that. I'm retaking A&P 1, Developmental Psych, and I never took Texas Government so I'm in that class as well. So im really retaking two classes.

I am defenately bummed out, but I'm not a quiter. I will look forward because failure is part of life and we have to LEARN from it.
