TWU Spring 2008

Hey everyone. I'm interested about joining TWU-Houston for Spring 2008. I completed all my pre-req's with a GPA of 3.2.

I've read in the forums that their cut off is 3.7. Is there anyway I can raise my GPA by re-taking classes? If so, which ones should I do over and what are the core classes they're looking at.

Is that the only school u want to go to? I think u should apply to others that are a little less competitive and u probably can get in. The core classes are usually the science classes that they really look at and lifespan for some reason.

does anyone know the gpa cut off for the last several semesters? just curious

Hello,

I just completed my first semester at TWU Houston. The school and the teachers are awesome, I love it. I think that the cut off for my entering class was a 3.75 but that is what I heard from others, so its not official. I would suggest retaking any science that you did not get an A in over the summer, specifically anatomy & physiology, microbiology and chemistry. When it comes to taking Pathophysiology, a good foundation in A&P is so critical. Best of luck... let me know if you have any questions about the school :)

thank you all for the much need information!

I recently attended the May 31 orientation/seminar for prospective nursing students at the Houston campus and they said cutoff gpa's for past semesters have been as low as 3.2 and other semesters 3.7 was the lowest. They encouraged us to continue to apply because it may change depending on the # of applicants they receive and other factors such as when they have room for more students.

I would retake the classes with the most credit hours and the lowest grade. for ex. a&p 4 credits and u have a C retake and try and get a A.

ok i have been looking at the updated pre-classes required for twu and they are now listing some kind of qualitative math. at tarrant county it is listed as math 1332 i looked it up and it is selective math topics.. anyone take this thing? i am all math'ed out..ive had enough with algebra and stats you would think that would be enough. i have not decided to apply to twu nursing cause my gpa is just not high enough but i am doing my bgs degree there and i have to have it for even that!!!!

I saw those pre-reqs too and I dont plan on taking it. I took almost all the math classes available, so I dont think I have to take that. I never heard of that class either. They really need to stop changing pre-reqs!

. they really need to stop changing pre-reqs!

the math 1013 is because they made changes to the core curriculum. at orientation we were told that if you've taken classes at twu before fall 2007 then the math 1013 was not needed, only for the new students to the college entering beginning fall 07.

HI EVERYONE,

Well

HI EVERYONE,

Well right now im completing my nursing core and im applying for TWU in the Spring 2008. I dont have a very good GPA, is a 3.74 and Im in the 96 percentile of reading and math, according to my NET test . Im sooo scared that Im not going to be able to make it TWU. Im only 19 yrs old, but I have the greatest passion and I have worked so hard for this.

Does anybody have any advise or does anyone know the GPA cut-off for the last few semesters?

Thanks,

bjane
