Trying To Pass!!

Published

i have taken my nclex-pn test twice and failed it both times :(. i have scheduled to take it again the end of this month (june) and i am very nervous. i have been studying and doing these study disks. i truely believe i have test anxiety because i get really nervous and irritable the week or days before the test and even the day of the test. i really want to be become a nurse and pursue this career further. i'm just having a lot of trouble with this first big step. any suggestions of how to cure test anxiety? what did some of you others do and how did you study? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!!

:monkeydance: I pray that you can gather the strength to overcome your obstacles.Positive thinking will be the key to your success(If you believe, you will achieve!!! ) When I was studying for the nclex(I used saunders) I thought that there was just too much info to review. I also doubted myself alot at the beginning, but I redirected those negative thoughts/insecurities and focused on my goal to attain my nursing license.Since your test date is quickly approaching, try to set aside block sessions to study. Don't study when you're extremely tired/fatigued/hungry(you wont retain anything if you're focused on other issues) GOD BLESS YOU and GOOD LUCK!!!;)

I use to have test anxiety a couple of years ago when I started taking physiology. I spent hours studying for the first test and I felt that I knew the materials really well, but when I sat down to take the test, every information stored in my brain was gone. I remember calling my husband on my way home in tears because I knew I flunked my first test. When I got home, I researched hypnotherapy and found a therapist where I lived and sent her an e-mail. I explained my situation and asked her if this is something she can help me with. She called me and guaranteed that she could help me so I made an appointment to see her at the end of the week.

I had a two hour session with her and she recorded my therapy on a CD. I was instructed to listen to my CD for the next 30 days before going to bed and from that point forward, my test anxiety was gone. I did well in Physiology and even got 96 out of 100 on my final. I also did well in my LVN program because I no longer had test anxiety. I went back for another hypnotherapy before I started my NCLEX review and will go back to see her just before I take the test. So far, I feel really good about taking the NCLEX.
