Hey, this is kind of a just "for fun" post- if it needs moved please go ahead :)
I was just being "reminiscent" or something like that, today, and looked to see what the first thread I started here was (like a whole, what, 3 years ago? gosh that IS a long time isn't it?? WOW)
It was titled "First Clinical Fear" about, obviously, my first day with actual patients as an actual nursing student. Of course I got all kinds of great advice/support and etc. And it is interesting to read it and realize how I've changed and what I've learned since being a sophomore nursing student, and how the (everlasting) questions I bring to allnurses have changed (but NEVER lessened in frequency! :chuckle )
To make a long story short, I was just wondering what some of you all's "first threads" that you started were.

I believe mine was (after introductions of course) about my struggles at my first job after graduation. How they didn't give me much orientation, and what I should do.
People on this board have offered tons of support and to say I adore you all for it would be an understatement.
I have made several difficult choices since that last post, but my most recent choice, even as difficult as it was, I think it the best choice I made. Quitting my night job for a wonderful job at a doctors office who practices holistic medicine as well as traditional medicine. It fits me perfectly since I am a holistic practitioner :) I am so glad I made this choice. It means losing my wonderful insurance, but simply having insurance is NOT worth having to use it nearly weekly because I am sick all of the time because my body is so out of balance working nights. So needless to say, I am insurance-less but happier thats for sure. The people at the office respect me and my experience as a holistic practitioner as well as a nurse. I will never get that kind of respect anywhere else.
I just can't thank all of you enough for being a shoulder, an ear a caring guiding hand through all of my rough times. It means so much to me :)
Thanks again!
hey I had to look mine up too Marie- not sure why I was so interested... I remember that one sticky student thread with all the internet resources, i think you started- pretty cool.
jen your experience here is quite similar to mine. it's a great place to be.
