Thread for those starting the Indy Ivy Tech Fall 09 ASN & LPN Programs

Hello!

I thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us who will be starting the Fall 09 ASN & LPN Programs at the Indy campus.

It looks like each campus has a different routine. I thought it might be handy to have a thread to guide/support us as we get our to-do lists completed and beyond.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! :nurse:

We will be seeing each other at the June Orientation.

Great idea Indy!! What a wonderful help this thread will be!!

Just a gentle little bump to keep the thread alive! :) Tomorrow we'll be able to say that our orientation is next week! 12 more days! What's everyone been up to?

Which schools have sent out the LPN acceptance letters already? Did most students apply to multiple schools, if so which ones? I've applied to Richmond and Muncie, but I have not heard anything yet.

Hi everyone-I was trying to decided if I should accept the LPN program seat I earned or try again to earn a seat in the spring for ASN. Well...I decided to do the LPN then do the transitional program! So I will be meeting all of you next week at 9am! Did anyone decide how to pick each other out in a crowd? We should meet after to chat...before maybe a little distracting like seeing on old friend in a long time and wanting to catch up!!!:wink2: Let's get something plan, if there is not already something in the works....I would like to join in!

I hope you guys have fun at orientation this upcoming week! Make sure to post all about it because I have another month to wait! I want details! :D

Hello All,

My name is Kim and I have been accepted to the Fall ASN program at Ivy Tech in Columbus.

If anyone is interested, I know someone in my town (Shelbyville) who will give the AHA CPR class for Health Care Providers at a discounted rate ($25.00). If I could get a few people together, we could have the class in the next week or two. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks... :)

Where is everyone??? tomorrow is the big day for Lawrence! Is anyone planning on getting together?

Have fun today everyone! (Indy people at least) And be sure to get back on here and tell all about it! I'm eager to hear details so I know some of what to expect for next Jan.

Hey everybody!

I just found this thread.

The orientation wasn't too bad. Information overload, but we have hard copies of pretty much everything discussed.

I am trying to figure out where to get my vaccinations right now. My lame health insurance won't cover any of them. My vaccination records are nowhere to be found. I will comparison shop around, and try to report back to the thread.

I called around, and the Health Department was able to help me out with everything. +1 to them.

Hi to all the soon-to-be nursing students! If any of you have any time, I'd love to hear some details about your orientation, what kinds of things you have to do before classes start, who can you get CPR cert. from, any other tidbits of info or advice. I'll be applying for Spring 2010 and I just realized that the orientation for that will be just a little over 3 mos away! (they have it in late Oct. for Lawrence campus I think). Thanks for any info anyone can give. And congrats to you all!
