While Crusades didn't say who was doing the exploiting of George Floyd's death, doubtful she was talking about the Republicans.  But she isn't wrong.  The event was "exploited to death". 

Here in Florida there was some protests and some violence, especially in Miami after George Floyd's death and we entered into an era of "protestors are bad".  It wrangled through the courts until 2024 until I think parts were enacted.  Was this exploiting George Floyd when surely there have been protests in Florida before.

When Walz was announced, he quickly said "Harris-Walz: most left-wing ticket in American history,  Minnesota was ground zero for the BLM riots of 2020. Harris egged it on and Walz sat by and let Minneapolis burn.”  Was this exploiting George Floyd?

Republicans who have traditionally polled worse with black voters did "exploit" the situation to their political advantage.  They wanted to look good to black voters.

I don't think in the long run that pointing out that BLM really gave them any political gain.  It wasn't like "oh a black man was murdered by a white cop, let's exploit that".  It started with a visceral reaction by the general public who watched and were outraged.  Republicans as well as democrats had to go on record.

 In fact I feel it was more exploited by the right, especially news organizations like Fox that published articles like "anarchy in Portland, as city is ablaze".  I had friend in Portland who stated they were barely aware of the protests and life was pretty normal there.  Certainly condemnation of any violent reaction to the event and reporting of such is necessary, but over dramatizing it was an attempt at political gain.

From time to time it almost seems like Trump is trying to find an excuse for not debating Harris that resonates with his fan base.  So far, nothing seems to dilute the impression that a cancelation would make him look weak.

I think that's a win:win for Harris. Muted mics allow for Harris to actually complete a thought without being drowned out by static. Open mics make room for trump to expose his mean-spirited pathology. After all, Harris learned to play rope-a-dope as a prosecutor and went on to hone her skills under the guidance of a master.

A very Interesting thing just happened. I was wasting time on YouTube watching today's Rachel Maddow show. She was winding up a segment on the chaos over Georgia's election boards, when suddenly the broadcast was replaced by a  video of soccer game somewhere in Europe.

Could be your basic technical glitch.

Could be someone doesn't want us looking over there.

I'm leery of conspiracy theories. That being said, there have been times when something a bit looney turned out to be real. Christian dominionism and HRC's "vast  conservative conspiracy" Spring immediately to mind.

I would love to get a look at ALEC's records. Or be a fly on the wall at the Bohemian Grove.
