Just found out that as far as managment is concerned the Holiday is Monday. So those of us working this evening are doing it for straight time. (insert obsenities here) :angryfire Which means all the people off this weekend are going to picnics and fireworks and coming back tomorrow(Monday) to get time and a half.

Ugh! I am working a 12 hr. shift today and it's holiday pay. I think management's holiday is recognized as tomorrow though.

oramar - i'd be inserting some obsenities too. (i'd have to walk around with a big red censored sticker sealing my mouth shut).

Well, as our clinic is always closed on Sundays, our mgt. conveniently decides to ignore MONDAY as being the recognized (by gov't. offices, etc.) holiday, and so now all of us who work tomorrow.. the official holiday.. get didly. Isn't that convenient?
Although I did hear yesterday that they are "considering" (how nice) giving us a 10% differential tomorrow. Sheeeeeesh.

Not a holiday where I work, either. Fortunately, its not a workday for me. I do think it's unfair for those who are working, however. Typically, the 4th is a time people would MUCH rather be at a family BBQ or the beach than WORKING.

Gosh, don't you have a book or manual that outlines the dates? Just because management thinks one way doesn't mean it is so if it is oulined otherwise elsewhere...
