test bank

has anyone ever purchased a test bank before?

Several web sites that sold these items have disappeared from the internet. I believe that legal proceedings were successfully brought against them.

No- but I know people who have. Don't be tempted- it will only hurt you in the long run. Thats a fact!

It's basically cheating. Trying to access the problems the profs. pull exam questions from is a bad idea.

If you need practice questions there are tons of great books out there, search Amazon for "NCLEX review books." Saunders, Lippincott, and Davis all publish great ones.

it's not for the nclex or nursing its for a gen-ed class. i'm looking to use questions as a study guide since there are only 5-6 questions on the books website for review and it's not nearly enough. no luck though since the few things i have come across seem like a scam...

Do you get to take your exam questions with you after the exam or are they whisked away, never to be seen again (b/c the faculty are to lazy to invent more questions)?

If you get them, ask the ppl in the year above you, or other ppl that have taken the same course in the last 3 yrs--- to lend you their copy of the exam questions.

OR ask the same ppl if any of them recreated the exam questions...

That's what we do over here... gives you peace of mind... and sometimes the difference between a fail and pass :)

We don't get to take them with us (I wish). Some of the review questions available online show up on the tests every now and then but 5 questions doesn't really give you an idea of how well/what material you should know/comprehend

You are really admitting to academic dishonesty and cheating? Really? Nurses with a complete lack of a moral compass scare the hell out of me.

Academic dishonesty? are you kidding me?! The staff KNOWS that we do this--- there is nothing dishonest--- we're being very honest about it, we've brought up the point to the faculty that it's a pointless policy b/c ppl reconstruct the tests--- they just shrug---- they don't care. The student's union is allowed to publish tests to their website... and people are not allowed to REMEMBER?

There is a similar thread that I posted last week:

why not make your own test questions? here is what i hve done. i read the chapter then i go back and find important points. i make study question of those points. by the end of the chapter of the 2nd time through, i have study questions of the important points. why rely on someone else's questions when you can make your own and learn in the process.

Using a test bank and getting previous exams from past students is cheating and a good way to get kicked out of your program.

So let me get this straight--- If the teacher uses questions from the studyguide for the textbook, and you've seen them too--- than you're cheating?!

That is exactly the same as looking at an old test from 3 yrs ago. If the test has been over (months/years)--- you are not cheating.

Academic dishonesty--- if you use someone elses ideas an claim them as your own, or cheating on a test.... Not learning from past mistakes...
