hello out there

I am taking my TEAS exam tommorrow...and I am way scared. I bought the ATI study guide book and went through it focusing on the math and science portions. I was wondering if there were any last minute tips I should knoe or anything extra I should go over tonight

Is one section of the TEAS looked at more carefully than another?

i.e. Math is more important than English

At the school I applied to they look at your overall score, but individually they only consider your Reading, Math and Science subscores. That was good for me because my lowest score was in the English section. I had the most trouble with the commas, colons, semicolons!

ah i take this on sunday. I've been going over the review manual for about a month and am now doing online tests. I'm not looking forward to it :(

it's not hard. i did **** on the english section, which is usually my best subject, but math and science I killed.

This might be a little late but your best bet is to use that TEAS book that ATItesting sells! That was all I studied and yes it helped a great deal! Brush up on your math! Whatever ur strength is brush on it more instead of focusing on your weaknesses! Good luck! =)

hey thanks! yea I've been studying the manual like crazy and I'm just about done with it. I'm also doing some free practice questions online. I hope that it's enough.

I just found out that I will have to take this test a few days ago. I'm very, very, worried. I never took algebra in high school 20 years ago, I've gotten by in my pre reqs by luck i suppose as I've never needed the algebra so far. I can do the metric system and fractions and bet i could do ratio ( just don't remember exactly what that entails). I also don't do well in chem, just find it so boring. I havent taken it but my bio classes went over basic stuff like bonds and valence electrons. I need to get at least a 70 and an 80 on the math. So friends and neighbors is this even possible?

I need to take it by April 13, and can only take it one more time.

Please give me some advice, I did order the ATI study guide and practice tests

I haven't taken it yet, but from all the advice here, it sounds like the ATI will give you a pretty good idea of what will be on the test. I also ordered the Kaplan study guide for nursing entrance exams per suggestions on here from folks who felt it did a better job of preparing them for the science portion and such. I will hopefully be taking the TEAS in the next week or so. I hope I am ready!

Yea I just took it a few weeks ago and got an 89. It's pretty easy basic stuff. Just buy the study guide and take the online practice exam. Don't freak out if you do bad on the all of the practice exams. (I got a 70 on the online practice exam a few hours before I took the actual test and scored way higher on the actual one.) You can't use a calculator so make sure you practice a lot of math. The more you practice, the quicker you can finish the problems. Hope this helps. Good luck! Also, Brush up on life science. There isn't a lot of it, but it's probably the toughest portion of the test.

I took my TEAS yesterday... I didn't pass and I'm very upset over it. I think I kind of just gave up right in the middle of the test. I feel stupid for not passing. I know I'm not the only person in the world but it still stinks. Hopefully, I can pass it in time for June. I really had my heart set on making the April deadline. I should have taken the TEAS last month--..:scrying::banghead:

I'm taking the teas tomorrow morning. I'm pretty nervous about the math because it takes me forever to calculate things since I've been having a calculator to do everything for me for so long. The science is also worrying me because I've missed many science questions in the study guide that the review doesn't cover.

I'll be back tomorrow evening to post my experience :D Good luck everyone.
