Looking for ideas on how to set up TB skin testing to encourage better compliance? Do you have a 5 day a week open door clinic in the hospital? Offer it on each floor? Train floor staff to administer? Looking for ways to make this more managable at our hospital to increase compliance.

all our employee's get their ppd test for tb at the start of their job and then once a year on their annual update. employees are expected to have their annual update and employee health visit on their month of birth once they are hired and have been working one year. each employee go through skills update required by the facility, safety, etc and then see employee health, have their ppd and do their annual fit test. hope this helps.

So Chey - do you have a full time employee health office that the employees go to when they are due? Like a walk in clinic type thing?

Hi, no, not full time. You know how hospitals strive to save money.

I do strictly infection control 4 days a week and we have an employee health nurse 2 days a week. She makes appointments for the staff.

Its due during the month of your hire...since everyone has a yearly mandatory training 2 hr session (fire...hazards...emergencies..all that Joint Commision stuff and OSHA stuff) they set up a station before the class. If you are not compliant they take you off the schedule. Yes you can go to employee health as well

Our infection control nurse would have a cart and go to the nursing units over a period of time. It was a small hospital, so this worked out well for us.
