Taking the NCLEX in a different state

So I just recently graduated from Nursing school in Arizona and just got my Authorization to Test today. Problem is that I already had a trip to go see my folks for a few weeks in Georgia. I was wondering if while I am visiting my folks, if I could take my NCLEX there. I have 2 small children and the testing center is down the street from my parents house and I would have family to watch my kiddos. Versus back in Arizona, I would have to travel an hour and a half to the nearest testing center and have to juggle daycare for the kids. It would definitely be easier on me to test in GA, but before I got my hopes up, I wanted to ask.

I am not planning on moving to GA or work there... like I said, I will be just visiting. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone yet to test!

That's perfectly okay. You can test anywhere!

You can test in any state. Your results will go to the BON you registered with.

I tested in NC but live and work in SC. SC was the state I registered with the BON. Testing in NC allowed me to test faster due to open slots😉 Just to give you an example lol

I haven't scheduled yet, but am planning on doing something similar. Good luck!

You can test in any state you desire. Good luck on your NCLEX.

Glad I found this...I was about to post the same question! :) Good luck with your NCLEX and have a fun trip!

The N in NCLEX stands for NATIONAL. You're keister can be physically located in any state for taking the exam =)
