May 13, 201313 yr Would the kindle fire hd be good for this? Looking for a good tablet with easy note taking and for a reasonable price.
May 20, 201313 yr I am young and of the "technology" generation yet I still use the old fashioned pencil and paper. I write fast and keep up with my professor. I like hand writing my notes, it helps me learn the material better honestly.
May 20, 201313 yr I like the iPad but my husband has the kindle fire and swears by it. I'd not recommend the kindle fire for note taking though. I however will always be a pen and paper gal. Nothing hits home quite like physically writing it out.
May 20, 201313 yr Experts It is completely beyond me why epople think they need expensive gadgets for taling notes. What's wrong with writing it down?

We prefer it :) and there is nothing wrong with writing it down if that's your preference! Different people absorb information in different ways. To each his/her own.

To each his/her own.True.I just get a kick out of the ones that carry on about " OMG I can't go to school without something electronic". I guess that makes me an old fogey.lol
May 20, 201313 yr True.I just get a kick out of the ones that carry on about " OMG I can't go to school without something electronic". I guess that makes me an old fogey.lolHaha me too then I love technology but go way old fashioned when it comes to school!

I have to admit, I don't like how technology has taken over families and communication. Example: a family at a restaurant who are all on their cell phones not talking to each other. Now THAT gets to me! Lol.I will say that the iPad has helped me because I'm a very slow writer and very fast at typing. Lol. So if they hand out PowerPoint notes, I can focus on typing the additional things the professor says rather than the notes themselves :)
May 20, 201313 yr Experts Well I guess with teachers suing so much media to teach you have to keep up.Yeah it's awful at work. We can't use our cell phones on the floor so at break everyone is busy on their phones and no one talks.
May 21, 201313 yr I'm getting an iPad with my fafsa money this June.i really think it will help me keep track and more organized. What are some good apps? Besides Evernote. :) for nursing and pre rec classes like math and micro and psych.
May 23, 201313 yr I use the app Quick Voice. It's free :) you can also record while you're typing notes on Pages.I love my iPad! It helps out a lot since you can download Adobe Reader and you don't have to print out PowerPoints (as someone previously mentioned). You can even type directly on the PowerPoint notes the professor gives you. Saves a lot of ink and paper! Thanks Jeli42! Ill definitely be using that app!
May 29, 201313 yr I plan on buying the otter box for it. My son has an iPad mini and that thing has protected it so many times. No scratches no dents and no broken glass :)Please do. I have it on mine and I can't tell you how many times I'm glad I didSent from my iPad using allnurses.com
May 29, 201313 yr I recently got an ipad not necessarily for taking notes but to go trough my professors power points easier. Now there's no need to print them and have all those papers carried everywhere and lying around the house. I have downloaded apps to record my future lectures though. The iPad's battery also lasts forever and I don't have the hassle of having to carry a laptop and charger make sure there's an outlet close by etc.[/quote']If you don't mind me asking, how do you get the power points on to the iPad? (New iPad user)
