Suzanne,

I have a question for you since you have students. You recommend Saunders hands down and I wanted to know what other study material you recommend. I have the Saunders Q&A book and I use the NCLEX review book from the Nursing Education Consultants. We had Kaplan come to our school today to go over what they give. They said they have more higher level questions than anyone else which is more like the NCLEX. Versus some reviews that have recall/knowledge questions. Is this true? Do you think Saunders has more higher level questions?

I'm taking the Hurst Review now and love it but I'm wondering how Kaplan is. I guess I feel like I'm missing something because some of my classmates are taking Kaplan. Did any of your students take review courses and if so, which one. Oh, we also have Meds Publishing coming to do a free live review for us since we paid for their programs during school.

Thanks!

Tiffany

hello suzanne. thank you for the info about pearson vue. will check it soon.

about the i.d. ~ i only got my passport, and that's it. i have no hospital i.d. because i resigned from my previous work to fully concentrate reviewing for nclex, and here, we usually surendered everything belonging to the hosp. incl. the i.d.

thanks again. :)

Suzanne -- Would love to her your advice for me. I'm in term three of a six-term RN program and won't be taking the NCLEX until after June 2006. I'm an older student with an excellent GPA, but would like to be doing all I can to succeed with the national exam next year.

Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to let you know that one ID should be enough. When I took NCLEX in North Dakota on 19 of this month, the receptionist told me that they changed the rule from two IDs to only one since this January. So, I am pretty sure it should be the same in anywhere else. Did you call to Pearson and ask about it?

You really just need your passport.............. :Melody:

I have to say that you an amazing human, thanks for all your tip and support, we all here appreciate what you had been doing, helping people out everyday, plus your life.

Even i never had personal contact with you, i always red your post, i found in them so much to keep myself inspired, working as a PCT, plus stuff at home, and study for the Nclex.

I am a cuban RN, in this race with people around the world that turns out like a big family support group.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, I am agree that saunders is great, i got both edition 2002 and 2005, just awesome.

But i found Delmar review quiet interesting and very similar than the real Nclex.

Have a nice weekend.

Ulices from NY, taking the Nclex sometime before July.

Hallo Suzanne,

I am stil reviewing for the NCLEX, and I would like you to ask for some suggestions as i know you teach also studens with English as a second language.

As a foreign educated nurse I had to pass the CGFNS exam, and i have passed it. How is the NCLEX exam related to the CGFNS? Is the NCLEX harder ?

How do you motivate your students to keep going ?

About my study -material: I have Saunders, NSNA Alice Stein, and I had also some old books KAPLAN 2000,etc. Can you send me also some info ?

Does it make sense to look in the older books too? (I have a lot of them ), or are they no more actual ?

Thank you Suzanne for your help! MULTUMESC !(In Romanian -thank you)

Send me your e-mail address by pm, I am sending out info tonight.

Hi Suzanne,

I just wonder if you can also share me with these review articles, I would really appreciate any help.

CGFNS is no longer a requirement for foreign trained nurses, excpet for those wishing to work right away in either Michigan or Illinois.. :)

I personally think that NCLEX is much easier than the CGFNS exam. And actually you have that is your favor, if you passed CGFNS the first time taking it, then you have over a 98.7% (think that that is the last number) chance of passing the first time.

My other personal preference is the Saunder's book and CD. I feel that they do the best job of explaining the rationale behind each and every one of the answers, both correct, as well as incorrect. I think that it is just as important to know and understand both.

I have added you e-mail address to my list, but deleted it from the thread. This site is actually Googled around the world, and I don't want anyone placed on a spammers list........... :)

there are some people out there just trolling for addresses. :o
