2010 Summer GEM at Rush

Hello,

I am wondering if there is anyone applied at Rush for GEM 2010 summer.

I did a month ago and am waiting for an interview.

Is it too early? Is there anyone hearing from them?

Hope someone can help me with these question.

Thank you ~

Has anyone else heard back? Just curious... Hope the best for everyone!

Finally I will do my interview with Rush on the next week.

Do you have any advice for me?

How many professor did interview you?

How long did it take?

What kind of questions did they ask? if you dont mind can you advise specifically?

I am getting nervous time goes by...:redpinkhe :redbeathe :heartbeat

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Btw, How was your interview go? did they contact you after your interview?

Hi!

Congrats and good luck. Just be yourself do not let your nerves get to you. I interviewed with one other professor for about 25 minutes. It was pretty basic...why do you want to go into nursing? why rush? talk about yourself basically. They told us when we were done that decisions would be sent the first week of March. Keep me posted.

Thank you for your advice~

hi jessica,

good luck on your interview! if you search through the old Rush GEM threads, they have some pretty good advice to prepare you for the interview.

i had a phone interview last week because i couldn't make it out to chicago. i only spoke to one person and it was a pretty quick interview (prob around 10-15min)! he asked questions like, What nursing qualities will you bring? What makes a good nurse? Do you have a support system in Chicago? How do you handle stress? What changes do you think you'll need to make in order to be successful?..etc. Just be yourself, and I'm sure you'll be fine! good luck!!

Did you have any presentation session before your interview?

They asked me to come one and half hour before my interview time.

I have my interview tomorrow at 1pm. I was told that from 1-2pm there would be a presentation session and at 2pm would be the interview. Anyone know what the presentation is all about?

I'm trying not to psych myself out for this! From what everyone is saying, it doesn't sound so bad...

The presentation is very helpful just gives you a break down of the program and answers any questions you have Good luck!

how did the interview go?

Hi ~

So FINALLY I am done with everything that I could do.

I will know by March 5th whether I am accepted or not.

My interview was around 25-30mins with the director of GEM program.

He asked me why nursing? My Strengh for nursing? how do i do under stress? What do I do with the situation that I am not a native speaker? What do you think nurses do? and if I applied any other school?

It was kinda quick interview, and I think I did okay.:heartbeat

I was told that the final decision will be made by March 5th Friday by e-mail..

Hope for the best all~~~~:yeah:

Great. Yes I was told I would know by next week I can't wait to find out!

The interview went well, thanks for asking! I interviewed with Dr. Lisa Rosenberg and the meeting was very casual. She asked me questions like why nursing, what I think a nurse does, some stuff about my background. I'm so anxious to hear back (this week!). I'm trying not to get ahead of myself, but I can't help but looking up apartments! The campus housing at Rush sounds very nice too...
