Suffolk Fall 2022 RN program

Hi there everyone! Starting this thread a little early, I just applied today and very anxious. 81.3 on TEAS and 74.75 on rubric. Probably not the highest but hoping it’s enough to get in! Just curious what other peoples stats/ TEAS/ rubric scores are to those who don’t mind sharing! Good luck to everyone applying!! ?

Does anyone know when decisions will sent out?

Is there a place I can check to see the Status of my application?

@nurse2bmom I’m sure you have a shot! Just be aware if you happen to reapply for Spring for Suffolk it’s only a part time option. I only found that out after I applied for Spring and only applied to Suffolk which was dumb. Do you have any college credits or an associates? Farmingdale has an “advanced standing” program where if you have enough prior classes taken you can do their advanced program and get your bachelors in nursing in 3 years! It’s only Spring start and it’s full time. Just incase you need a plan B to reapply just to think about! Best of luck

@2022rnstudent just some advice everyone should DEFINITELY follow up with admissions and make sure their application is in the system and their transcripts/TEAS scores are submitted. I have horror stories with both Suffolk and Nassau with the admissions office claiming they never got my transcript or my application wasn’t in their system. If I never checked I’d never even be in the running. Unfortunately you really have to be on their asses with that because I know people who never got acceptances or rejections because they claimed that they never received the application. So please do yourselves the favor and call or email them to check to make sure everything is good!

I had no idea springtime was parttime, does that mean its 3 years? I have my associates from 10years ago. I know on the website it says A&P 1/2 has to be within 5 yrs but when I sent my transcript over they listed all the acceptable courses including A&P 1/2. Do you know if u graduated with a degree it would be different? I would hate to repeat again.

Where did you get accepted to, if you don't mind me asking?

Hello everyone,

I am here to share my stats ? I took the TEAS for the first time and got an 82.7 and my rubric score is somewhere around a 76-78, I am currently missing Microbiology which I will be taking this upcoming Spring semester. Hopefully they give me a spot within their nursing program ?? Doubting myself due to my rubric score ?

@Nurse2bemom yeah the program is 3 years! But tbh it’s not the worst thing in the world, it’s just more spread out so think of it being more manageable if you have kids or still plan on working. If you did farmingdales bridge program for RN to BSN program it’s 1 year so you’re looking at 4 years for your bachelors which isn’t bad. And for Farmingdale or Suffolk? Suffolk I don’t think it matters but I’m not sure and for farmingdale im not sure if your associate credits expire at anytime aside from A&P1/2 does say after 5 years those classes expire. If they emailed you they’re good maybe they’re accepting them? My biggest recommendation is contacting Ryan Neary at Farmingdale, he’s the head of admissions. If you Google him his email should be listed on Farmingdales website. He was super helpful in helping me out through the process of getting in the program and answering my questions. That’s where I ended up getting into!

@FutureRN445 that’s a great rubric don’t doubt yourself! 75+ seems to be who are getting into the program. 76-78 is great. Best of luck!

Thank you! ?? Good luck to you too! I saw that you mentioned you got into farmingdale’s program if I’m not wrong, that’s great! I took the TEAS last week… so I could not apply to farmingdale for fall 2022

@FutureRN445 thank you so much!! ☺️☺️ ugh well as of now you only missed by a day! The deadline was the 15th.  Tbh like I said in my prior post Ryan Neary is very helpful. I highly recommend sending him an email if you look up his email on Google for farmingdale and just say you tried applying the 15th and it wouldn’t go through or something and tell him you have a good TEAS score. With your TEAS you have a good shot there he’d possibly probably take your application it’s more than worth a shot! I was late with my application as well. You have a great shot with Suffolk but It’s best to apply to as many places as possible with how competitive these programs have become.

@jlauren96

Congrats on your acceptance!  Thank you so much for the info, I will def look into it.

Hey guys! I've been super nervous about my acceptance into the program but I am just happy that I passed the TEAS with over an 80 so that I can get Advanced for the rubric, I know @Jlauren96 said a rubric grade 75+ is usually the starting point for admission. I am 2 points shy of this, so now I'm even more worried LOL. I have a Poli Sci AS Degree so I also applied to Adelphi's BSN program so that I can graduate in 3 years with my BSN. So I'm debating if going to Suffolk is a good idea because I would only be graduating with my AS in Nursing. I hear it is hard to get jobs in New York if you don't have your BSN. Does anyone have any information if this claim is accurate? My end goal is a travel nurse.
