Temecula Valley Experienced Nurse Job Fair
Any news?? I still haven't received a phone call or an email. My application status online did change however. It said no longer accepting applications. One of the apps says no longer being considered, and the other says applied (didn't change). So still confused, thinking I may get a rejection email soon, but fingers still crossed!

Temecula Valley Experienced Nurse Job Fair
Nothing yet on my end. I do know of someone who was brought in today for an interview for ICU as a result of the job fair. My guess (hope) is that there were many more applying for med/surg vice the specialty areas, which may be why it is taking longer. I am working right now, but only have about 1 1/2 years experience as an RN. Fingers crossed!!

Temecula Valley Experienced Nurse Job Fair
Wow, that is so weird! See that is why I felt so unsure of what was to happen next. Maybe it was ME at the end of the road and was just referred back to the pool of online applicants...aahhh....who knows, I guess all we can do is wait. Good luck to you as well!

Temecula Valley Experienced Nurse Job Fair
That is too funny! I also applied for med/surg (days), and my experience is in ortho as well. I did see the amount of people who attended, and was quite surprised due to the hospital's location. Those numbers also make me more nervous! As far as the test, I do not know what my results are. Do you? How did your "process" go? I did med/ECG test (passed), 1st interview, 2nd interview, then straight to testing area for Nurse Battery exam. After the test I told them I was done and they said to make sure I apply online and should hear something in the next week or two! I wasn't sure what to think after that. As far as the online positions, I'm not sure what the difference is in applying online vs. the job fair except now they have an official application. Well good luck to you as well, and let me know if you hear anything! :)

Hello all! Just thought I would start a thread for any of you out there who attended the job fair for Temecula Valley Hospital on July 26th. Please feel free to share any updates you hear regarding the hiring process. Did anyone receive a call back as a result of the job fair? What's next? Hate the waiting game!

LVN-BSN /West Coast University
I finished the LVN-ADN program at WCU in Aug 2010. They no longer have that program as their focus is now BSN and MSN. The program was VERY intense because it is accelerated. However, they must have done something right since I passed my NCLEX with no problem the first time around with the minimum number of questions. Just like anywhere else, you get out of it what you put into it. Yes, it is CRAZY expensive. That made my decision to go there very tough as well, but, somehow we were able to make it work. I am a veteran though, so, I did have some GI Bill money to assist with the cost. I am just now looking for a job since I received my license Oct. last year. I had my last baby in Nov. last year and then we moved, so, I waited until I was a bit more settled before starting to look for jobs. I kept my eye out though, and even now, it's HARD finding places to even APPLY to right now as a new grad. I also saw that many places are REQUIRING BSN. Although I already knew I would continue my education, I figured I better do something productive with my time if I was not going to work right away. Also, there are some people in my class who have been nurses for 20 years that are going back to school for BSN because their employer is going to require it in the near future or they will lose their jobs. From what I gather, being a new grad nurse anywhere in the U.S. right now is difficult, with California being one of the top on the list. I think it will ease up a little in the next few years though. So, I was lucky because I just started putting in apps at the end of October and I at least have an interview...I am also hoping it will be my LAST as a new grad and I get the job! THANK YOU for the well wishes...I sure hope they help! As far as WCU, I attended in Orange County and really have no complaints. From what I have seen from WCU complaints ALOT is about the cost. Other than that, like I said, it's what you make it....just like anywhere you go...there will be good and bad....even the instructors that worked there liked it compared to some other major universities they had worked for in the past...good luck to YOU...

LVN-BSN /West Coast University
That is interesting news tothepointeLVN. Yes, WCU no longer has the LVN-ADN program, however, what they do now have is their WASC accreditation. Therefore, you could continue on to pretty much any college for your Masters degree and your degree would be accepted. If you were to try to transfer to another nursing program in the middle of the program and wanted to transfer certain classes however, they would need to be evaluated by the college to see if it meets their requirements. This happens no matter what school you are moving from/to. So, yes, WCU does offer a BSN and MSN. They have some great technology and I cannot complain about my education received there. If money is an issue, then you may want to look into your local community colleges and find out more about their programs. If time is an issue and you would like to complete your education quicker, no matter the cost, I would entertain the ADN option at the sister school or BSN at WCU. Although finding a job with an ADN is not hopeless, in today's competitive market a BSN surely helps. Not to mention there are hospitals that will not hire ADN nurses any longer. Not sure what info you needed, but hope that helps...I have my first job interview WED!!

Loma Linda RN residency 2012
I did apply to a few Loma Linda Clinical Nurse B positions. My first one was Oct. 25th. I have gotten an email for all of my apps saying my app has been forwarded to the hiring manager. I applied for Adult Acute/Intermediate Medical Services and Surgery. Still nothing! The nurse recruiter told me today that it would probably still be at least a good 2 weeks to hear anything. So, just TRYING to be patient with my finger crossed! Good luck to you. Anyone else with experience with being hired under the Clinical Nurse B positions?

Scripps Healthcare New Grad Program - 2012
Well I got my rejection letter. I figured my chances were slim since I got it in so late..They should just remove the job listing when it reaches 500. They said they had over 1100 apps! I also read that by Tues they had over 300. So either I suck or I was waaay too late! Oh well, the search continues!!! Good luck to you all. :)

Scripps Healthcare New Grad Program - 2012
I too just submitted. I actually submitted the application at about 4 pm, but wasn't able to finish the assessment until 1 am. It shows that my application was submitted/received but I was also worried if I made it within the 500 applicants. I noticed the posting was no longer on the website later this evening...Good luck to u. The good part is we will know within 2 weeks if we get called for an interview! Let us know how it goes!

RN-BSN UOP or WCU
Yes...I don't know why this was such a difficult topic to get a response for...It seems there are alot of people that will talk down about either one of these schools, if not for anything else, the cost of the program. I agree that is a SIGNIFICANT thing to take into consideration. For me however, I am a military veteran and have education benefits which reduced the cost of these programs significantly. At this point I can go to either one of these schools for next to nothing. Personally, I truly enjoyed WCU, ADN program (Orange County Campus). Just like any school there are ups and downs..depending on the particular instructor/staff at the time. I felt the program was beyond challenging. I personally prefer the accelerated curriculum...I can't stand being in the same class for 4 months! I learned a lot and was well prepared for the NCLEX..passed the first time with minimum number of questions. I ended up choosing to return to WCU to complete my BSN strictly based on the curriculum, and the program overall. They are CCNE accredited, however, are not regionally accredited at this time. They are currently in the process and are scheduled to have a visit by WASC in Feb 2012 for either candidacy or initial accreditation. While it is a slight possibility, I am not banking on the fact they will receive their accreditation by the time I finish. I also know regional accreditation is not the end all be all. WCU also offers an appealing MSN program as does UOP. I am pretty confident WCU will be regionally accredited as well by the time I am ready to go back. If you have to complete the whole BSN program, I would guess they may actually have their accreditation by the time you graduate. Cost, however, is a HUGE consideration and a personal decision. Please just look at the big picture...if you have the time to go through the state school system, by all means, save your money...

West Coast University-Child Care
SoCalNursingStudent...I was just going through some of my old messages and ran across our conversation from way back...Just wondering how WCU is going for you..When or have you completed the program? I finished the ADN in August and am now going back to finish BSN...so what did you think overall??

UoP RN-BSN Anyone else had this happen?
OK...so it's coming down to the wire and I have to decide...how was the work load...they scheduled me to complete all classes except one in 12 mos...this means I will do one online course and one on ground course at the same time during 3 terms...do you think this is doable or am I being set up for failure...i have to choose between West Coast University which is pretty reputable and I like their program (and yes it is challenging) but not regionally accredited 9in the process)...UOP is regionally accredited..not sure about the reputation or how they have set up my program...what do you think?
