What is a CA? I am a mere new grad nurse, and in a conversation I spoke to someone about a girl in her unit that was a "CA". What's that stand for?

... a person from Cali...LOL, the question was not so silly after all
Oh..... CA= Care Assistant. Yeah, she was talking about a position at the family practice office she works at. So, it's the same as a CNA? Why the difference in the acronyms?
