For a client taking Amphojel when should they be instructed to take it? and what do they take it for?

  • Author

AMPHOGEL: Is used to suppress secretion of stomach acid. Must be taken with water and must not be swallowed whole but must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing to prevent it from entering the small intestine. Also must be taken at least an hour prior other medication to prevent adverse effect.

I am truly enjoying this thread! What is Amphojel take for?

Amphojel is taken for Gastric and duodonel ulcers as well as relief from Gastritis and reflux....It works by reducing the acid concentration and pepsin activity by raising the PH...watch for constipation, Phosphorus and Calcium levels...

Since isolation and infection control are biggies being mentioned from recent test takers lets throw some of those out there....Here's a match question( or drag and drop if you will)....
