Stroke Certification

A friend recommended that I become stroke certified but I am having a hard time finding individual stroke certifications through American Heart. Any leads? Is the certification called something else or is it through a different organization?

It's the Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) certification that you'll need to obtain to truly become 'stroke certified.' Click on the link below:

I worked for a facility that was Stroke Certified and because I worked on the stroke overflow unit I had to take hours of various courses. However, I didn't need any individual certification. I actually didn't know this was even an option until right now.

Is this something employers desire, or will it result in a promotion or raise? If not, unless stroke is something about which you are very passionate, I'd say it's not something you really need...
