Feb 6, 201115 yr :confused:HAS ANYONE TAKEN A STRAIGHTLINER COURSE AND TRANSFERED IT TO THIER SCHOOL?
Feb 6, 201115 yr You took the words right out of my mouth! I was going to ask if anyone had today, also.
Feb 7, 201115 yr Go to http://www.degreeforum .net there is a lot of info and transfer options, from people who have done it. Just do a site search using Straighterline, and there should be plenty of info.
Feb 7, 201115 yr Experts I'm currently enrolled in two of Straighterline's courses. Many people have easily transferred their credits to the colleges and universities that have specifically partnered with Straighterline, such as Excelsior, Thomas Edison, Charter Oak, Capella, DeVry, Colorado State's global campus, Fort Hays, etc. Problems may or may not arise if you attempt to transfer the credits into a school that is not a partner college of Straighterline. If you are trying to do this, I would have your Straighterline courses transcribed onto an ACE transcript and see what happens. One of the partner schools, Fort Hays State Univ, will transcript five of Straighterline's courses as their very own: College Algebra, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Accounting I, and Accounting II. It appears as if you took the courses at Fort Hays, which makes it easier when trying to transfer credit into schools that are not involved in the Straighterline partnership.
Mar 15, 201115 yr I'm currently enrolled in two of Straighterline's courses. How are your courses going through Straighterline? :)
Mar 15, 201115 yr I have taken English COmp I & II, General Chem with Lab, College Algebra, Macroeconomics and finishing up Business Communications tomorrow ( all of this was done since February 2011). I know ISU will take the ENglish's on the ACE transcript. Macro & College Algebra was/will be transcribed thru FHSU as credits obtained there. General Chem is on ACE. Got preliminary approval on Chem from ISU also......they will accept ACE recommendations according to their transfer guy.
Mar 15, 201115 yr I'm currently taking a Biology class, and I absolutely hate it. I've taken numerous online courses previously,( and scored high 90's) but this one is kicking my rear... royally. Seriously considering dropping this class, but I really need the credit. I've emailed them twice now asking for some guidance, but no response as of yet. Plan on emailing or calling tomorrow.
Mar 15, 201115 yr Experts How are your courses going through Straighterline? :)So far, so good. :)I'm now enrolled in six Straighterline courses: Biology, Business Communications, Economics, College Algebra, Business Statistics, and Accounting I. I have completed the first three courses listed and will probably be done with College Algebra sometime within the next 24 hours. This is a good option if you are seeking cheap credits, because you're only paying $39 per course if you are enrolled in the monthly subscription.
Mar 17, 201115 yr How is the work load? Do you find it harder than other online classes? Is it the same as the Clep classes? How fast do you complete the classes? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to gather as much information before making a decision. Thanks!

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to gather as much information before making a decision. Thanks!Self paced.....some classes are alot of work, others are pretty easy. Timeline for completion for me = Algebra couple of days, English Comp I 2 weeks, English Comp II 2 weeks, Chemistry 2 weeks, Macro 4 weeks, Business Communication about 9 days.
Mar 18, 201115 yr Experts How is the work load? Do you find it harder than other online classes? Is it the same as the Clep classes? How fast do you complete the classes? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to gather as much information before making a decision. Thanks!1. Biology took about a month for me to complete, but keep in mind that I was working 60+ hours per week between two jobs while completing this course, so I didn't work on this class daily.2. Business communication also took a month, but I still had the same hectic work schedule and didn't work on the course every day.3. Macroeconomics took about a week and a half.4. College algebra took a couple of days.5. Business statistics is still in process.6. Accounting I is still in process.
Mar 18, 201115 yr So Commuter, are you using the $99 per month, $39 per class or did you do the $999.00? I contacted Ft Hays to store my credits as I am not sure where I want them right now... and now have to choose which payment plan to use. Its kinda of encouraging to hear your schedule, as I work about 60 hours like you and have family too. I was afraid I was taking on more than I can chew. One more question, do you think by the time you finish all your classes, you would have spent $1000.00? Thanks!!

One more question, do you think by the time you finish all your classes, you would have spent $1000.00? Thanks!!I am using the $99.00 monthly option because I expect to be done with the courses by the end of next month. The $99.00 monthly option is best for people who can finish the classes quickly. So far, I have had two payments of $99.00 deducted from my PayPal account ($198.00) and have paid for six courses at $39 each ($234.00). I am already done with four of the courses, and I fully expect to be done with the remaining two by the end of April. When you include the cost of used textbooks, I will have spent about $600 on six courses. The $999.00 option is only good for people who want to enroll in all of Straighterline's course offerings. It is also good for people who need the full six months of course access.
