Stop it!

Please stop the random CNA who comes onto the unit & professes her fairy tale love life with the doctor ***. Goes so far to come into work dressed up for a date, why would you do this randomly on your day off? Sends work emails on what heels to wear on this date. All the while, the physician in question is making rounds while she's texting the unit clerk on what an awesome dinner they're having..

Stop the madness I say!

Rant your stop it(s)!

When male patients are finished showering, washing their hair, brushing their teeth etc., PLEASE PLEASE be very sure they have returned everything they should return back to a staff member. Don't just say "Thanks" and not check them off on the list. Actually LOOK at the items they have handed over. Razor? Check. Shaving cream? Check. Shampoo? Check. Toothbrush? Check. Toothpaste? Check. Liquid shower soap? Check. What a minute.... Where's your comb?

A whole bunch of things bunched up in a wet whiskery towel that sometimes has a poop smear on it because you didn't bother to wash

there whe you showered, plus which, your personal hygiene lacks a little something... is not how I expect you to had back your personal tings! That wet hairy towel belongs in the hamper!:banghead:

You can't tell I worked in a psych hospital, can you?!

Stop with the rapid fire emails to management everytime you disagree with a call I make on the floor. By choice you spend all day in the observation room and are only on the floor for a few minutes during behavioral management issues. I appreciate your help and experience but you aren't on the floor enough to know what is happening, this is not your regular shift and you don't have a license to lose. I hate pulling the RN card but seriously, if you don't agree with the decisions I make, and you aren't willing to talk with me so I can explain the reasoning behind my decision making- then please go to nursing school so you can take my job and run the shift the way you want it to be run.

Oh what about when you call down for the Ferritin at 1930 that's due at 2100, but they tube it at 1945 and forget to call.....Sure I'll run it( insert sarcasm)[/quote']

Absolutely! Or the non-formulary that the physician orders, but that we don't presently carry, and then NOT bothering to even call the nurse to report that we don't have it/let the nurse know of the status of it.

Really?!? It takes two seconds! And I don't care if you called the doctor to tell him we don't carry it, please, call me as well!

Please stop telling your resident/attending that I didn't relay essential information to you. My notes prove otherwise. The patient has had hematuria for two days now and I notified you both times. Additionally, the patient has told you about the color of her urine. So when I question your order for Coumadin to the pharmacist, please don't lie and say you didn't know the patient was actively bleeding. And don't tell the attending that either. We both know you just forgot. Be human.

Stop making up abbreviations and becoming upset when I do not understand that OOBTTC means out of bed to the chair. urrggghhh! LOL[/quote']

I thought it meant out of bed trying to conceive. Lol

I laughed so hard trying to imagine it that the cat got down and stomped off! :roflmao:

To a certain CNA: Stop spending your breaks outside smoking cigarettes and then taking extended breaks towards the end of the shift because you need to sit down because of your heart problems.

To the guilty CNA(s): The razors we have in the supply room are disposable. After you shave the patient with it, throw it away in the sharps container. Stop putting used, uncapped razors in the drawers with the other patient care items. Yesterday I almost got nicked by a Hep C patient's used razor while trying to find some lotion.
