I start in the fall here in Maryland. I am so exicted. Have you guys started pulling all your old records together for immunizations? I want to buy uniforms now!!! I've been going to all the little uniform shops at various malls. It's so exciting! I have no idea what our first semester will be like but I just bought the dosage book to study before the semester starts. We have to get 100% on our dosage exam!!!
What was your orientation like? Mine isn't until August!
Orientation was a little boring, but had a lot of useful information to it. The person that runs the program had four of the graduates from last year come and give us some pointers to making it through the program and what worked for them, that was nice. Other than that they gave us the list of textbooks which is a mile long and the schedule for the first 3 weeks of class. I am glad they did that so early. I already did all my immunization things, I wanted it all done as soon as I could so I could just relax before school knowing that all is done. I still have to order all the textbooks though. Our school has its own uniform so that was easy for me. We just order from the same company as everyone else and then we all look the same. Nice to hear from others going through the same stuff as me. Later, JoJo

To all of you new nursing students best wishes and lots of luck. Hang in there even when the going is really tough and do the very best that you can. The final reward will be after you pass NCLEX and you get that wonderful envelope addresse to you with the initials RN after your name....:)

I'm starting this fall too. Don't have orientation until 7/19, but sent in all the paperwork today (fingerprint cards, health forms, etc.) I'm very excited...I got my stethoscope last week, but don't know what the uniform is yet so have to wait for that! Good luck everyone!!!

Im starting in the fall too...well, its actually still the summer, my program starts on August 1st! Exactly one month of freedom left But I am very excited! I will be taking A&P and Foundations of Nursing.
Are you going for your BSN? Im not...I already have a bachelors degree, so I am going to a nursing school at a hospital. I will graduate in May 2007 also. Maybe down the road I will try to go for a BSN, but now I still owe for my bachelors and I will also owe for my nursing program, so Id like to get that under control first. :)

Hey fellow future RN's!
I start this year as well! Aug. 15th is my start date and it is an ADN program. I don't have orientation until Aug. 11th, but they have already sent us A LOT of information. They actually put the student nurse handbook and our syllabus for NURS 101 & 102 (first semester classes). My NURS 101 syllabus is 174 pages long! Agh! But I have already read one of my books and as soon as I can afford to buy the rest of my textbooks I will do as much pre-reading as possible. I am glad they do it this way though - now I know what to expect for my first semester. :)
I wish everyone the best and good luck!

Hey everyone,
I am also in the spring 2007 graduating class. I am really excited! We don't have orientation until August 24 so I am kind of stuck in a holding pattern for now.
I just did all my immunizations and let me just say that 4 days later my arm finally isn't killing me anymore from that dang tetenus shot! I still have 2 more left in the series for Hep B and my CPR certification. Other than that I am rearing to go!
Good luck to everyone!
