Starting to get nervous...

I still have a couple of weeks before I take the NCLEX, (actually its like 12 days to be exact) but I am really starting to get nervous about it. A few of my friends have already taken it (and passed) but they said how hard it was and that they felt like no type of review course really prepared them for the questions. They also have great study skills, and I do sometimes.

Also, all 3 of them got 75 questions when the computer shut off. I just feel like I have this added pressure to get 75 questions, or somehow I am not as good as them. I know it sounds stupid, but I kind of feel that way. Although, as long as I pass I will get over it quickly Im sure.

Just feeling some anxiety I guess.

Its definitely anxiety and I'm sorry your friends have scared you. I have only taken the LPN NCLEX so far but I didn't think it was that hard or out of line from what I was prepared to experience. Just take a deep breath and feel confident that you have prepared yourself and will be successful. Good luck!

I'm nervous too--I take it on Sat! ARG!

We are going to be FINE!!!!!! :)

You are NOT alone!!! I take mine in mid-Feb and am starting to freak-out! I am having some serious anxiety, I'm actually contemplating asking my DR for some ativan or something. I don't think I've ever had so much anxiety!

With prayer and good study we will all do just fine. As long as we pass it doesn't matter how many questions we have to answer. PRAY - PRAY - PRAY!!!!!

Don't let your friends mess with your head right now. In fact, don't even think about what your friends said about it, everyone is different. Just know you can pass with 265 questions, and for every question you get past 75, remember you are STILL IN THE GAME! Don't get discouraged. Good luck!

Wow!! I am in my 4th semester of an ADN program and a friend in class started talking about the NCLEX and absolutely freaking out. I asked what was the WORST that could happen if she didn't pass the first time? Geeez, have to take it again? Okay, bummer, but even John Kennedy Jr. didn't pass the Bar the first time around. And everyone in the U.S. who listened to a radio or read a newspaper or People Magazine KNEW it. Somehow, he managed to still go and retake the test and pass.

I think it's seriously important to keep it all in perspective. Think about the pts in the hospital or parents who have kids in a Children's hospital or the folks in the midst of a war somewhere...and take a deep breath.

Whether it's 75 questions or 250, if you pass, you pass; it's nobody's business how many questions you had. It'll be your choice to share that info.

Best wishes!! I bet you do GREAT!!
