For scrubs I love the cotton scrub company-on line ordering. The cotton breathes so you don't die from heat. They have all kinds of prints and solids to choose from. Landua is also one of my favorites. These brands are a little more on the expensive side but all the ones that I have purchased have held up well and still look like when I first got them. Don't do anything but Landua on the pants.
Shoes.............I will be faced with that one soon. I always wore sketchers for NS but b/f when I was working I wore the "Anywhere' clogs b/c they came in alot of colors and were relatively inexpensive. I tried some of the nursemates (not the clogs) but they killed my feet!! I want to try the nursemates again but a different style. I am kind of short so I would like to find some with a little height that are comfortable. I think that it will help me when reaching for equipment.
Good luck
thanks for the heads up!!!
i wanted to buy a comfortable scrub for work. i was looking for something in cotton and still wanted air to breath. and of course it must be soft!!!
i saw the dickie cargo pants in the store and it was soft but im going to look for that pant scrub also.
thanks!

I love my Landau scrubs - and I just bought a few pairs of new pants, I think the brand name is Smart Pockets. Those are really soft and wash well. Be warned though, the length on the smart pocket pants are pretty long compared to Landau. I have the flare low risers, which, I hope I don't get jumped for the low rise remark! Ha ha. I do notice that low rise scrubs are nothing like the low rise jeans that are out there, plus my scrub top covers my butt. As for shoes, I think that there are numerous posts on the board about thoughts on shoes. I have worn New Balance as a CNA and had no problem - just bought some Danskos that I love! Hope that helps!

Dansko is a comfortable shoe. They are expensive, but worth the money. Now, I wear Birkenstocks, however they are clogs. I work in the ED and virtually everyone wears Dansko, Birkenstock, or Merrells.

I have no idea what scrubs I'm gonna have, because I'm broke and haven't gone shopping yet. I hope I can afford pants, because I could in theory still wear my white pants from school but I can't stand the elastic!
For shoes, well that's part of why I'm broke. I got dansko's clogs with the backstrap for clinicals, and they are wonderful. Takes a few achy days to break in, but they really support the foot. So I bought the brown ones with a back on them for everyday wear. Putting on my normal flat shoes hurts after a few days of good support.
Side note: do NOT try to walk backwards or sideways in dansko's. Trust me.

I am having problems finding scrub tops that don't look ridiculously huge on me. I have yet to go pants shopping so that might be a whole other issue I don't know about yet, but I ordered a few XS scrub tops off allheart figuring I would be safe, XS is XS. No way, they are still HUGE on me! I am afraid I might need to go to kid size :chuckle , but the only kids scrubs I've seen come in sets, and I don't believe I could get away with children's bottoms. Plus I am working with adults and I don't know how much they'd appreciate me wearing children size care bears scrubs :chuckle . Does anyone else have this problem and if so, what do you do about it? Any brands make XXS?

Bummer! I wear a small for top and XS for pants. I can't imagine being that small on top. Good luck!
Hey NursetoB2005-does Dansko have a website or did you order them from another scrub site? Do your clogs have any kind of heel to them (high/wedge) and if so are they comfortable? I have been checking those out on some of the scrub sites that I have gone to and I really think that they might be just what I am looking for. I am going to go looking this weekend in some of the stores around Dallas. Just curious. I love Landua too. Just ordered me 3 of the cutest scrub tops yesterday from cottonscrub co. Can't wait to get the in. I love them b/c they have all the bright colors!!
Thanks for any info.

Hey Grinnurse! How are you doing? Dansko does have a website where you can see all of their products and then it has a search engine where you can find stores in your area. http://www.dansko.com I must have the world's most stubborn feet, because I ordered a pair online from an online company (special edtion, PINK Danskos), well I normally wear an 8. I ordered the 8 and they were too small. So I ordered the 9 and they were too big. So, then I got frusterated and went to my local store to figure out how they are supposed to fit. I tried on a cute burgundy pair in an 8 and the left foot was fine, but the right foot was too tight. The salesperson told me that each shoe is made by hand, so they are all going to fit differently. She brought out 7 different size 8's for me to try on, and I finally found a pair that worked. Granted, they aren't pink, but I can live with them. :chuckle They are very comfortable, and make you about 1.5-2 inches taller. I feel like I glide in them! You might want to do a search on these boards though, some people love them, or they hate them, it seems like. I love them. When I first started nursing school, I thought they were the ugliest things alive. Now, they have grown on me. I also have a pair of Dansko Sport clogs too. To me, those are roomier than the Professional. Hope that helps! Take care!!
Hey Nurse2b-I am walking on clouds since Thursday morning!!! Thanks for the website. So the ones that you have are the closed back right? They have tons of different ones to choose from don't they? Do they usually run about 100 bucks a pop? I like the looks of the professional but also liked the llse line (open back clog). They looked like they may be comfortable once broken in. I got names and addresses of 4 shops in DFW area to go check them out. Going to get up there today to try some on. Glad you told me about the sizing so I will know what to look for and don't get frustrated. So far, have you been able to keep them looking nice? Thanks again for the info!!
