Sleep Cycle

Hey guys,

My "full time" job is teaching, but during Christmas break, I work 3 night 12 hr shifts a week!! Doing that has me on a night shift sleep cycle....Even on my days off, I will sleep all day and be up all night.....Right now in St Louis the time is 0050---and I am wide awake.....at 8pm I took 2 benadryls to help me sleep!!

Is anybody else up all night.....what do you to fill the time??:typing

Wishing I had taken an Ambien about 5 hrs. ago. Too late now, got to get up in 2 hrs.. :uhoh21:

I've done that before. Two hours of sleep before work. Its awful.

I'm in the same predicament...

I just started nursing straight nights (used to do two 8s/12s which was much easier on me) and thought that it would be easy to do this since I normally go to sleep late and get up late. But I was so wrong! I hate sleeping through the day and having my boyfriend go to sleep so much sooner. Then I sleep on the couch not to wake him up!

I watch tv/browse the computer like most people, but I think I'm going to switch jobs and get off nights.

Good luck!

I work nights and it's amazing how much landry and house cleaning I can get done when the kids are asleep. Of course I check out allnurses. Its the best part of staying up at night. Dont have to fight DH for computer time. :typing
