Shut off at 79 questions.

I took the NCLEX-RN today and it shut off at 79 questions. This just has me so freaked out. Has anyone passed or failed at 79 questions?? I know some have passed and failed at 75 questions, but have never heard anything about 79 questions.

Hace you tried the pearsonvue trick ????

two of my friends passed at 76...

the Nclex is set up to shut off after you have reached what the program feels is an adequate number of questions to either pass or to fail. I know ppl who have been shut off at 87 and 92, so just be patient and wait for results :). the next few days will be the most stressful you will ever experience. I wish you all the luck in the world :nurse:.

Mine shut off at 95! I was stressed out! But I passed!!

you either did pretty dang good or pretty dang bad. no in between with that few questions. i'm betting you passed though.

I was always told that the number doesn't mean anything...

Well, did you feel like you knew most of the answers? Or did you leave feeling like you were just tested on a subject you've never studied? You just completed nursing school...if you feel like you knew what you saw, then you're good...if you feel like you just took a test in a language you don't speak...well, start studying for your next NCLEX attempt.

Many of my classmates and I ask each other "how sure were you about your last few questions?" Perhaps if you know you've answered the last couple correctly because you knew the content, then chances are you passed!

I'm so sorry there isn't any kind of way anyone can tell you definitively "yes" you passed or "no" you didn't. Just as denisemc said, this will be your worst and most stressful week. Best of luck! :nurse:

it does, but you need to know if you passed or failed first. there is no predetermined amount of questions. you receive as many questions as it takes for them to know without a doubt you can do the job.

if you received 75 questions and passed, you did awesome!

if you received 75 questions and failed, you couldn't have done worse!

if you received 265 questions and passed, you passed by the skin of your teeth

if you received 265 questions and failed, you were so close to passing by the skin of your teeth
