Should I keep my Micro book???

Next week I'll be done with my last semester of pre-req's (yay! :w00t: ) and I was wondering if people who are in their actual nursing classes have kept their micro books for reference (or if you didn't, if you wish you did.) I'm def keeping A&P and patho, but I wasn't sure if micro would be useful later or not (pharmacology, maybe?) Any thoughts/experience?

I have actually looked something up in my micro book more than once. I would definitely keep A & P and Dev Psych. I've actually looked up stuff in my chem book also. These are the major books I would consider keeping. But, on the other hand, you could get some money for them and rely on the internet to look stuff up.

I didn't keep my micro book and I didn't end up wishing I had. It certainly can't hurt to keep it, but I don't know that you'll need it for anything other than reading it for personal interest.

Toss it as far as you can!!! LOL sell it and make a buck!!!

you can always GOOGLE it!!!

I didn't. Haven't needed it either. I look everything up online. Micro stuff changes quickly.

I graduate in Nov and I have yet to open my micro book since the class. I have also not opened my A&P again or developmental psych. My patho book has been used a LOT and I am very glad I kept that one. The rest I should have just sold back!!

I thought I'd keep my micro book just in case I needed it, but haven't touched it since class has been over. I learned a lot in the class, but the stuff we need to know just got reviewed thoroughly enough in subsequent classes that I didn't feel I needed to look at it again.

I kept mine, but wish I had sold it. I agree with one of the previous posters, you can find most info. on-line.

Sell that thing back, you can google whatever you need to find out. Heck, here is another tip, don't even bother buying most nursing books. For the most part, they are worthless. Ask nursing students a semester ahead of you if your professor offers most of the info you need to know in their notes. If the answer is yes, save your $100 and use it towards something useful.

Didn't keep mine because I needed the buy-back money at the time. Sold it on eBay and made a good amount of the money I spent on it back. Wish I had it now but I have countless other microbiology references now that I have gotten for free over the last year. Older, "out-dated" micro books, etc. Unlike the PP, I use my nursing books constantly. We do not have enough time in lecture to go over all the material we have to know for class and I do a LOT of reading on my own time.

Are there any rad-tech students who wish to sell their books?

I'd love to talk to you:)

I kept my Micro book and never used it after the class was over. I also kept my A&P texts, and cracked them open once or twice. I wish I had sold them all.

However, do keep your Pathophysiology book. I used mine for almost every care plan I wrote.
