shift diff

i just got a job as a nurse tech. I will get 10% more on second shift and 12% more on 3rd. I think my staggered shift goes into 2nd and 3rd...not really sure.

Anyway, i was wondering what most places consider 2nd and 3rd shift. thanks

2nd shift is usually 3pm-11pm

3rd shift is 11pm-7am

2nd = 3p-11p, 3rd = 11p-7a everywhere I've worked.

Usually 3 to 11, I've also seen 2 to 10.

Pretty much the same, except ours is broke down to the majority of hours worked after 3pm, or after 11pm, so 3-11, 3-3, etc. is 2nd Shift, 6-6, 7-7 etc is nights.

I will get 10% more on second shift and 12% more on 3rd.

Is this typical for pay differences? Curious about what to expect~ ;)

Depending on the hospital:

M-F 7 am-3 pm 1st shift

M-F 3 -m-11 pm 2nd shift

M-F 11 pm-7 am 3rd shift

S-S 7 am-3pm 2nd shift

S-S 3 pm-11 pm 3rd shift

S-S 11 pm-7 am 4th shift

my hospital: base - $1.25 - $2.25 - $2.75
