SFSU

Hey everyone. With so many programs sending acceptance letters I am checking to see if anyone has heard from SFSU?

^ Why are you confused? it should say in the letter if you were accepted or not.

i was told they are not accepting for spring but now on my app they said i made it for spring but can change to fall that's why i am confused but i called and now its all straightened out! anyone else get in for fall/ spring 2010?

Hello everyone!

I'm still waiting on a decision on the Generic MSN for Fall 2010. It still says "in department review."

I've already been accepted by USF and Samuel Merritt, so yay!

I would still love to get a decision soon from SFSU so I can make a final decision ... at this point, I'm inclined to go with SFSU because it is the least costly.

Here were my scores:

  • Overall undergrad GPA 3.98
  • Prereq GPA 3.88 (B+ for Anatomy)
  • 130 hrs volunteer hours as an activity therapist aide at a hospital
  • Proficiency in 2 second languages...

Good luck everyone!

Hi Eriklee,

I was wondering what was your Bachelor's degree in? It's okay if you don't want to answer the question. Man, I am definitely not a competitive candidate. I haven't applied yet, but I'm hoping to apply next application cycle.

Going nutty waiting for SFSU to let their MSN applicants know our status. I can only hope they release the info early, next week is so far although we have waited awhile. My application has been in department review since Feb 9th.

I still haven't received an acceptance/rejection letter from the nursing department, however my status on my admissions has changed from under review to accepted to the Physiology major. So I'm assuming that means that I didn't get accepted to the nursing major. Now I'm starting to think I should just get my BS in Physio and apply to medical school....at this point I think it will be easier to get into than nursing school LOL

SCNurse87,

Hey the same thing happened to me. I was looking at my admission status and it said that I got into biology and a few days later I got my acceptance letter from the school of nursing. So I called admissions and they said that when I register for classes I'll need to file for a change of major. :) So there's still hope!

D

Congrats to all of you who got in.

I've been accepted to SFSU too, but ended up rejecting their offer since I go to CSUB and already started this spring. BE PREPARED and good luck. Nursing school is a challenge.

hi optimism87 -

you should be more optimistic :) i have a ba in human development from csu eb ...

ps - yesterday, i got a response to my email requesting for an update from sfsu:

the graduate nursing faculty have not completed evaluation of applications. decision notices will begin to be sent next week through the end of the month.

Eriklee,

Thanks for your response! It's so hard to be optimistic when everything you do seems like it isn't enough. But I will definitely try! :D

Hello everyone!!

I got my acceptance letter last Friday and start SFSU spring 2011. Congrats to everyone that got in. I'll keep my fingers crossed for eveyone still waiting. :)

Cal94710:

Just to clarify . . the admissions office told you that you need to file a change of major? My major still says my second choice of Sociology and the nursing department said the admissions office will change it for me. I just don't want to miss an important step!

Thanks!
