School and Housework!

how is everyone handling school and house work?

i get so depress when i can't keep my bedroom like i want it. i do better studying in a relaxed atmosphere and this happens to be my bedroom. books, books and more books slowly but surely are taking over the room. :)

Check out this site .... I found it through another thread. Although I don't subscribe to all her ideas, it's been enlightening reading.

I do the laundry and run the dishwasher...the pots & pans get washed before I need to use them again :chuckle :imbar As I've said before as long as it looks organized if someone were to drop by, I can handle it being dirty. :D

kitty, thanks i have gone to her site. my thing is, i don't have the extra time to focus on too much. when i take a break, i come to allnurse to relax.

It just takes 15 min a day... NO MORE... your allnurse siblings would miss you too much!

Housework AND school????? Those two things don't even begin to coexist,LOL! I have let alot of things go to get the grades....now when I become a nurse.....I want a maid,LOL!

Laundry and ironing are the two hardest things for me to keep up with !! Some of you will say "WHO IRONS"..lol. well not me that's for sure.

The last time I ironed my husband thought he got new shirts, he hadn't seen them for awhile..lol..

My hubby does the cooking and we all share in the housework. I do laundry, kids do dishes....

The house stays fairly clean.....I'm happy with it......

It's surface clean....sure could use a good down home thorough scrubbing though!

My dear sweet husband is disabled, but can do some house work. He's great and I'm lucky to be married to him.

being a single mother of two, most of the housework falls to me. my kiddos are 11 and almost 7, so we have devised a system that works "most of the time." each person is responsible for their own bedroom. if the kid's rooms get messy, i just shut the door. if they want friends over they must clean their room first. my son (11) is responsible for cleaning living room and vaccuming house. my daughter (6) cleans bathroom. i do the kitchen. is my living room and bathroom clean?? well, not as clean as i would do it, but it's presentable. we all have laundry baskets in our closets and on wash day, everyone takes their dirties to the laundry room and sorts them in the color-coordinator/sorter. i wash/dry/fold (occasionally they help with the latter) and place them into our baskets. everyone puts up their own clothes. i still have to help my daughter hang up her clothes, but she puts the other thing in her dresser drawers.

one day a week, i take one of the rooms and pick it up then dust/sweep/mop/clean toliet and tub/or whatever needs to be done to that particular room. is my house spotless??? by no means!!!! but it's presentable to company.

happy studying and cleaning...:chuckle

I had to learn to sacrifice a clean house for a while so I could focus on my future. It drove me nuts seeing my house a mess but I got over it! It gets a little better once you graduate but after working a 12 hour shift and coming home, the last thing on my mind is a clean house.

I like the advice of getting a maid....I wish I would have done that!

Housework has been put to the backburner for awhile and the only time I get to really tidy up after the whole family is when they're all in bed.
