hello to everyone! i've been reading through the threads and it was of great help for me. i'm a 2nd courser scouting for a REPUTABLE school to attend. i've inquired and have been assessed in different institutions, but these two stand out (because of their programs, schooling duration and proximity), dr. carlos lanting and st. joseph. not to start any flaming between graduates and students of both schools, pero i'd like to hear some feedback regarding these schools. any input will be much appreciated. TIA and more power!

hi random_thought, i'm a second courser and looking for a good school too. a lot of top schools here in manila are not accepting 2nd courser .they prefer fresh high school graduate. i also do research and interview a 2nd courser too and even visits schools for evaluation and to know how many years to finish BSN.

Manila Central University accepts 2nd courser, below 28 years old and if you're not graduate of allied course, you can finish the course 3-1/2 years.

Perpetual Help College-Manila - accepts 2nd courser

Manila Doctors College - accepts given that you are 26 year old below. the exposure is very good and NLE passing rate is high.

Concordia College (Pedro Gil) - accepts 2nd courser but if your are going to study this sem they are not offering health care 1 unless that 10 students will enroll on this subject and that's the time they will open it. better visit the school for evalutation. NLE passing rate is high. (HIgh compare to schools that are offering 2nd courser)

And a lot more...

Better visit this site so that you can choose what school you want to enroll. http://newsinfo.inq7.net/examresults/20060718_nursing07182006.pdf

Let me know what school you prefer. Good luck. :wink2:

may i ask how many years are you going to take BSN at Lanting. Haven't inquired yet on that school. all schools that i've inquired based on their evaluation, 3 more years to finish the course. btw, i finished BSME (BS MEch Engg)

Am planning on taking up nursing too and am also an engineering grad. I visited Lanting friday oct. 21 in the am. They said I can finish it in 3 years max BUT maybe I can do it in 2.5years. Better inquire there yourself. I've heard a lot of great things about Lanting. They offer special nursing programs for 2nd coursers. You can ask current students there. I did.

There's a slim chance Lanting might acept you. Anyway, you can finish your studies at PCHS then before taking the local board and NCLEX, make sure to study hard. Follow suzanne4's "plan" efore taking the NCLEX. there have been positive results for nurses who followed that plan. it's free.

Hi Dindog, can you please supply the link regarding Suzanne's plan before taking NCLEX. I'm so interested on it.

It is in Nursing student forum, then NCLEX... Anyway, here's the link.

Right now I'm reading the thread "the quickest way geeting things done and licensed in the US". I dunno if its upadated. It was posted march '05. Anyway, here's the link: https://allnurses.com/forums/f75/quickest-way-getting-things-done-licensed-us-98305.html

Don't forget to read the latest post. You might get the outdated information.
