Does anyone know how much I make starting out as a lpn in a nursing home with no experience?

Salaries vary from place to place. Perhaps you should ask you question in the state forum that corresponds to the state you live in. Good luck.

As Tweety stated, LPN/LVN pay rates are dependent upon the geographic area in which you reside, as some areas have higher costs of living than others. LPNs in rural Arkansas can earn as little as $11 or $12 hourly, and LVNs in the San Francisco Bay area of California can earn up to $26 or $27 hourly. Of course, rural Arkansas has a super low COL, and San Francisco has a very high COL, so the pay rates reflect the disparity.
As a new, inexperienced LVN in a Texas nursing home in early 2006, I started at $18.50 per hour.

My sister just had her first job interview this morning for an LPN job near Pittsburgh at a nursing home. The starting rate there was $15.45 per hour with a $2,000 sign on bonus.

In New Jersey, 21-24 minimum. And 20 per hour is the minimum I would take when i finish in 4-5 months. But like what the others said, it depends where you are. Try searching online like hotjobs.com, careerbuilder.com, monster.com so you would have an idea when you put your location. Good luck...

Hi;
Can anyone please tell me what the salary ranges are for LVN in TX with 27 years experience? How is the COL as compared to Central California? We need to get our of CA...everything is way, way too expensive. Have two teenage boys and the auto insurance alone, is killing us at $4000 per year.
Thanks!

The cost of living is great in my area (Dallas-Fort Worth, TX). I'm a native Californian who moved to TX 2 years ago. You can find a decent 2,000 square foot house in a good school district for about $110,000. Rents in decent areas run about $650 to $800 for 2 bedroom apartments.

I live in MS and the starting salary depends on the place you work for most LTC's here start no less than $15.00 hr. most start at $18.00 hr new grads with sign on bonus's also. If you work in a clinic its about 13.oo hr starting , hospital about the same. hospice about 16.oo hr, and home health starts about 15.oo hr. I work in home health as a communication nurse and make 19.00 hr. most assisted living starts out about 15.oo hr. easy work, i love it, way better than LTC. I love home health too, it's cool, not bad work either with amazing co-workers. My friend started out at psy and new grad made 17.25 hr. hope this helps, but depends on the state you live in. col is not expensive here either, i bought a 4bedroom 2 bath nice house with a huge front yard, and smaller back yard ( fenced in) for 90,000. its about a 2000sq foot house. hope this helps you out.
